What do you think the kind of fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was?

I'd assume it was a special tree, as it would most likely be made easy for them to discern from the others ?

What type of tree? There were many trees in the Garden.

"Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters. The cedars of the Garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden that were in the garden envied him." Ezekiel 31:7-9

God talks in parables, fruit is always 'after his kind', so you have the seed, then the tree, then the fruit.

"God blessed them saying be fruitful"

When reading the Bible you must be guided by the Spirit, to interpret, it's like another language.

"Joseph is a fruit bough"

"Ye shall know them by their fruit"

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree"

"Give her the fruit of her hands"

You must use the Bible to interpret the Bible and the spirit, they will not teach you such in wordly institutions, I don't think there is hardly a church on earth that would teach any truth these days, no, no,. must take the ancient paths, God will testify face to face to His elect in the wilderness, plead with you to understand.

I think God showed them the tree that they shouldn't have eaten from.

I don't believe that the tree or it's fruit had any kind of special power per say however, the tree was placed in the garden with a very specific purpose in mind. Neither Adam or Eve had a childhood, neither had an older friend or family member there to mentor them. All they had were themselves, God and a certain serpent in hiding who was waiting for the opportune time to make his presence felt.

Personally I do not feel that mankind's original sin was disobedience per say although that was indeed the act that got them in trouble. When Satan tempted Eve he did so with a promise, that the fruit would somehow grant her knowledge that would make her just like God knowing good from evil. Eve, in her own immaturity had partaken of the fruit assuming that this knowledge would somehow exalt her onto God's level. Eve easily convinced Adam to partake of the fruit also believing on the same premise, that the fruit would somehow turn them into "gods". Both Adam and Eve gave into the very same "sin" responsible for the fall of Satan himself, self centeredness and the desire to be exalted that comes with it. However, what Adam and Eve failed to realize was that on earth God had already given mankind dominion over all things on earth so essentially the power they desired, they already possessed in the first place.

To sum things up, the tree of knowledge was placed in the garden for one simple purpose, to test Adam and Eve's loyalty and trust (ie.their spiritual maturity). Why did God do so? Because God being infinitely soveriegn, all knowing and all powerful is not threatened by the free will of man. Ultimately God's plans will indeed come to pass. Remember time is on God's side, after all, He created it.

The fruit likely looked and smelled wonderful and likely looked totally different than the others, if I were to be tempted by literal fruit I would look for a tree with golden bark and leaves that look like silver and smell like chocolate, the fruit would drip with honey and radiate a flowery aroma.

It was described as being the one in the middle of the garden. Other than that we know nothing.

I thought maybe eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil meant being judgmental.

I choose none of the options, the answer is in the Bible to what type of tree, it is not a literal tree, it is not literal fruit, can you not use the Spirit to understand the Bible? Satan is called a tree as well in Ezekiel, just apply the metaphorical sense, Satan was the most beautiful tree in the Garden, he was called nachash - "enchanter" or "magician", being a fallen angel he retained many of his immortal powers and beauty, his tree was in the midst of the Garden. God had told Adam and Eve to be 'fruitful', but not that fruit, do not eat of that fruit, 'neither touch it', 'touch' is naga, the Hebrew naga if you analyse it in connotation means to 'lie with', to 'lay down closely with', its a polite way of saying sexual intercourse'....Eve cannot have sexual intercouse with an apple or a pomegranate...."The serpent (nachash) 'beguiled' (nawshaw), which means seduced.

No. The spirit speaks to us, we can't "use it."

I don't think it matters what tree it is. We will know all about it when we get to Heaven.

"use" - 2. to avail one self of. 4. to act or behave towards.

there are some different meanings to the word "use", propably about 20 meanings, I don't mean 'use' in an exploitative sense, or a colloquial sense. I just mean to act and behave in a manner towards, and to make oneself available to, is that OK with you if I do that?

I know what you meant but I couldn't help but say it. Why? Honestly, it's probably because of the way you used it as a response to dannychechid who, by the way, asked a question on something he wanted to know about. You made it sound like he was a complete idiot.

I was going to say how come nobody acknowledges that tree and the corrupt fruit has satan written all over it.
