And where did he get that power? Is it just power of a sinning spirit? Why did God give the enemy power to possess people and where is that power coming from?

Hey Danielle1234. Well when Jesus went to the Cross to die for us. God the father went to the dept of hell and took the powers and the keys off Satan. When Jesus spoke and said father why have you forsaken me, it was at that point, that moment in time, when God took all the powers off satan, So God left Jesus but for a brief moment.

Satan does not have any power whats so ever the only thing he has, is influence. the influence to decieve people into sin. We people are weak sometimes and its down to us to carry his influences to sin.

When God created Lucifer as an angel, Lucifer is now called satan. because when Lucifer was kicked out of heaven for rebelling against God. were did Lucifer came? to earth, were he brought sin into the world. he became a threat to God's people. Its then when he was called Satan. But he has many other names that will identify him. Father of lies. enemy, and many others. But one thing he don't have? is powers. Only decievement and lies and influences. And will use those to manipulate us, and to give us the impression that he has powers.

Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 17:4 A wicked person listens to deceitful lips; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Matthew 12:33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

The dragon does not actually have any power. The dragon is a liar from the beginning, thus any power people think he has is only an illusion.

Only Jesus who is the Christ has true power.

John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Matthew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

John 18:37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Aye indeed, good verses! Especially the John 18:37 verse, that verse alone answers the question of the topic quite well.

Revelation 17:12-18

[SUP]12 [/SUP]And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[SUP]13[/SUP]These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (to simplify the collective consciousness habits traditions and environments of the nations)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. (Now we see that the 10 who war with the Lamb are used by God for a purpose)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (So the entire picture is the 10 kings who war with the Lamb, God has put in their minds to give their power to the beast or system of men for the purpose of destroying the whore or devilish earthly wisdom who rules over them)

The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in
three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.Matthew 13:33

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:Matthew 13:45
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took
their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.Matthew 25:1

And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was
cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Temptations come from you, not from the enemy or his power (or lack thereof). James 1:14-15 says, "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

If you answer my question honestly (but answering them is KEY YOU MUST RESPOND IF YOU WANT TO KNOW) I will SHOW you the angel of light!

If you (representing Christianity) were to see a great miracle performed in the name of Jesus, how would you (Christianity) act towards it?

You representing Christianity would probably praise Jesus' name. But what if you see the SAME miracle done by a Muslim in the name of Allah? How would you or a what you would think a typical Christian would react to that?

It is vital to study the word of God, spend time in prayer and in a godly church that preaches sound doctrine, because sometimes the enemy misleads people with the appearance of miracles. :) One should always measure what is said and done against the truth of God's word. If it doesn't line up, it isn't God.

That is true but what does mainstream Christianity believe?

Muslims believe that there is no other God besides Allah and that he is the God of the universe. They claim that not only is he their God, but that he is the God of the Jews, the Christians and everyone else. When examining the profile of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and comparing it with Allah’s profile, there are a number of distinct differences between them that can only result in one conclusion: These profiles simply do not match! Allah is NOT the God of the Bible!
The Islamic faith, through the teachings of Muhammad, asserts that Allah is God and attempt to place him within the confines of the Holy Scriptures. When the Bible contradicts their teachings, they allege that it is flawed, has been tampered with, and has many errors. They further claim that the Koran, through the teachings of their prophet Muhammad, corrects them. However, it has already been established that Muhammad was both a false prophet and teacher. Therefore, Islam’s allegations are unsupported, baseless and without merit.
There are a number of major differences between the God of the Bible and Allah. This chapter will focus upon five reasons why they are not the same. According to the Holy Scriptures, the God of the Bible is the one true God while Allah is a false god.

Taken word for word from here: Allah is not the God of the Bible - visit the site to read the full article with the reasons that Allah is not the one true God. They are not one and the same. Allah is a false god, like Baal.

Typical mainstream Christianity, if they were to see a genuine miracle done in the name of Jesus, would praise God and give glory to Jesus' name.

Now if those same typical mainstream Christians see the exact same miracle done by a Muslim in the name of Allah, they would say that it was a lying spirit and wonder, a false god and the devil. Typical Muslims are no better the other way around

Now in BOTH cases, the person healed knows that a power healed them. But by appearances, Christianity tries to take credit for it or Islam, when in both cases, the work of the Spirit spoke for itself.

But both look at each other as if the other is another god, when both know in truth that is but one God. So the angel of light is when appearances of good that seem wiser than the appearance of another, and one believing the other is of another source.

If then satan casts out satan, how can this kingdom stand?
