People often come onto CC and they will first proclaim their faith and then proceed to outline a certain problem, be it marital or what have you. It is my approach to question the motives, attitudes etc of that person because having proclaimed themselves to follow biblical teaching and principles, it is my attitude that they are holding themselves to the standard set forth in scripture as to how we are to conduct ourselves. In a nut shell, how many of you have made a decision to hold Christians to a higher standard than others. It seems to be a common thread that runs through many of my interactions with people....here and in person.

Not sure if I posted in the right forum but I think this is a legit biblical question.

Yes, we do and should hold Christians to a higher standard than others. OF course, we don't always know when we are dealing with Christians, do we? If someone says they are a Christian we expect certain behaviors and attitudes and when we don't get it we conclude the person was not in fact a Christian. When others are exposed to Christians who don't act as such, they impose the attitude onto all Christians, and therefore have a skewed and negative view of Christianity. Makes all of us look bad.

We must remember one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, but that's easier said then done.

Just like over the top fans who are obsessive, rude, brazen and stalk their intendeds make those of us who genuinely love and care about the person look bad.
