Please do not be alarmed bt the title of this thread, or think that i have posted this to cause chaos, but who where the gentiles at that time who where not Jew ? .

My understanding is that most of the people in that area where either Muslim or Jew or of an Asian ethnicity.
As you can see that this prophesy from Isaiah was old testament about the Assyrians (modern day Muslim land).

There are noteable christian populations in Egypt and Assyria. Currently IS, or ISIS, is doing its worst to expel the christians from the iraqi part of the region however. And the copts of Egypt also has their share of islamist violence.
