Once a believer told me that one of the strategies that devil employs to keep the believers from spiritual growth is to keep them away from the Word of God.
I have been reading the bible for quite a while and is now just 3 books remaining of old testament to complete the whole bible. You can read the bible as the Spirit of God conveys to you.
The pattern which I follow everyday is
1) Read about the crucifixion of Christ. Matthew Mark Luke(Last 3 chapters), John Last 4 chapters. To focus on the cross of Christ.
2) Read 3 Chapters from old testament or new testament, on consecutive days, one day old testament next day new testament.
3) Read one random psalm, for hope and deliverance.
I have completed the new testament and now reading it over again, old testament 3 books are remaining.
