Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men.
verse 2 He has no form or comeliness and when we shall see Him there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
Much of churchianity is the seeking of a super star. A movie star. Instead of the lowly servant Christ, so many are lavishing their desires and praise on the Rod Parsleys of Christendom. 'Give us a king'. 'Christ is not enough. He's not pretty enough'. We set men on thrones and call them pastors, the special ones. The mediators between congregations and Christ.
Paul warned against 'another gospel, another spirit, and another Jesus'. It's all about arrogance and pride. Getting a bigger following than the church down the street. Paul warned about following men and not Jesus. Some follow Paul, some Apollos. Nothing has changed unto this day.
John 5:42-44. But I know you, that you have not the love of God in you. I Am come in My Fathers Name and you won't receive me. If some one else comes in their own name, him you will receive. How can you believe that receive honor one of another and seek not the honor that comes from God only?
There it is...pride. Leaders seeking the praise of men, the adoration of their followers. Right down to the store front church, it's still arrogance, not to mention avarice.
John 12:42-43 nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Oh how they are hooked on notoriety and esteem. This is why Jesus told His followers 'the gentile leaders lord it over the folks, but it shall NOT be so among you'. I have quoted this verse a hundred times here but so far most of you declare corporately ' this verse be damned Devon. Away with it'.
John 7:13 Howbeit no man spoke openly of Him because of the fear of the Jews.
Very few today will speak of theses scriptural commands and mandates lest they ruffle churchian feathers. Lest they rock the boat. Lest they topple a few sacred cows.
In chapter 9 the parents of a blind individual who was healed, DARED NOT confess Jesus for they feared the church leaders and folks. They might be kicked out of their church/synagogue.
Buck the system by pointing out this 'other gospel, other spirit, other Jesus' and you will be swiftly escorted out to the parking lot and told to never darken their doorway again. Of course that doorway is already darkened by all the distortions and falsehood.
Think about that. Jesus came as a humble servant, not an exalted Parsley or Hagee and He was despised and rejected. He did not charge for His gospel but rather fed the thousands for free. He did not have folks wash His feet and kiss His ring but He washed their feet and healed their broken hearts and wounds....without charge of money. He would never make it with His ministry today in any circle. Today's churches would escort Him right out the door, the one He stands at and knocks.
I personally have offered to feed His flock the word of God freely without charge recently to a church that has no shepherd, promising not to 'lord it over His heritage 1Peter5....not gonna happen. They'll find someone that will come in and charge a salary and then command everyone to sit quiet every week while he displays his awesome oratory skills, all contrary to 1Cor. 12 and 14 and Romans 12. All the saints are to minister in turn. That's not gonna happen either. Sad.
'And all the people clamored, give us a king'. Well they got one...didn't turn out real well then either. Out the synagogue with those that preach the lowly servant, Christ'.
