    Default Israel still god's people?

    Im asking this because I cant believe that people who
    go to war and kill innocent people, can still be god's people.
    What is happening in Gaza is not humane.
    And innocent people are paying the price.

    Blame Hamas, who continue to fire rockets into Israel behind human shields and quit believing the Palestinian Press.

    I don't know why you asked then. Hamas is a terrorist group whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel. What do you want Israel to do, roll over and die?
    It saddens me too that Hamas uses the Palestinians for their evil ways. But don't blame Israel.

    How do you deal with all the accounts in the Bible where God tells his rulers to commit genocide and wipe out whole cities? God is not a lovey dovey God and still dishes out revenge on His enemies.

    Yes Israel is Gods nation, the fact it is growing and has survived all these decades is proof enough. I also posted a thread about how God is diverting missles fired by Hamas. Testimony from commander of an Iorn Dome battery.

    God's chosen people are those in Christ, not National Israel.

    Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

    3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

    I think that God is in control, but I don't think that the nation of Israel can Biblically be called God's Chosen People during this dispensation.
    If the individuals are believers, then they are true Israel,
    But the majority in Israel reject Christ.
    They are the "Synogogue of Satan", saying that they are God's People, yet following the Adversary.

    God still has a plan for their bloodline, and He will sustain them as a race until the end,
    however, they are in unbelief, and their actions don't need to be supported by Believers.

    There is no place for Believers to be supporting sin, and the actions of evil men.

    “There's a way to preach the Bible unbiblically...You can use the Bible as the springboard for all kinds of ideas, can't you? Look around in here and find something that fits your fancy and then launch a rocket off it. People say, 'That was amazing, wasn't it? Remarkable what he got out of that.' Well of course it is, because he put it in before he got it out.”

    What about the people who try to kill others spiritually? That is killing eternally, not just the fleshly body in this temporary life we live here before we go to the Lord. Those are the people God wants us to protect ourselves against. God is aware of when those people are hopeless and will not accept salvation, ever. When God asks we war against them it is a holy war.

    i think the question should be whether God's people can be guilty of sin, not whether God has completely forsaken His chosen people -- because God has said He will never completely forsake her, though He now grafts us unworthy gentiles into His tree.
    have a look here:

    Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people;
    help me when you save them,
    that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones,
    that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
    that I may glory with your inheritance.
    Both we and our fathers have sinned;
    we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.

    (Psalm 106:4-6)

    and further down in the Psalm...

    They sacrificed their sons
    and their daughters to the demons;
    they poured out innocent blood,
    the blood of their sons and daughters,
    whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
    and the land was polluted with blood.
    Thus they became unclean by their acts,
    and played the whore in their deeds.
    Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people
    (Psalm 106:37-40)

    so here the psalmist describes the sin of Israel, and yet calls them God's people.
    this psalmist too -- did David not shed innocent blood when he had Uriah the Hittite killed?

    any time you see someone who professes Christ who hates someone in their heart, Jesus said this is as much a sin as murder. do we say 'that person is no longer a Christian'? or do we say that they have sin in their heart, and ought to repent? they aren't walking in Christ, but does that mean the one who said
    I will never leave you nor forsake you has forsaken them? a lost sheep remains a sheep.

    some will say that a true Christian is completely holy and blameless and never sins. i suppose that means there are none -- because John said if we say we are without sin, we lie. it is Christ's imputation of righteousness that makes us holy, and His forgiveness and the baptism into His death and resurrection that wipes away all our sin -- not our own righteousness. in an existential sense, we are pure and spotless, and with Christ as our advocate, so are we judged. but in a tangible sense, we still daily need to take up our cross, and to seek the mercy of God.

    all facts of the war in Gaza aside, God has chosen Israel to bear His name, and Jerusalem as His city. He has brought us also into His household, but He hasn't made Rome or London or New York the city that bears His name. Israel today is still blinded and in rejection, and God may chastise them as He sees fit. He's said that in the last days every nation will be against Jerusalem, and Jerusalem will be a stumbling stone to all of them - and Christ Himself, when He returns, will defend her against the whole world.

    even were i to agree that Israel does wrong by what they are doing today (and i don't - but this is about God, not the actions of the Jews) i will never curse Israel. if she sins, i will mourn for her, but she is the beloved of God, and i dare not be against her as a nation.

    kcar and prove-all like this.

    And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

    Genesis 28:13-14 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
    And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

    oops, forgot one...

    David speaking;

    Remember his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan, as your portion for an inheritance." Americans killed how many Indians. Joshua killed how many Canaanites. Americans killed how many Germans and how many Japanese, How many Koreans and how many Vietnamese.

    God killed Aaron's two sons and He killed Reuben' s two son's. He drowned Pharaohs army into the red sea. He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah after Lot was rescued. He killed Ananias and his wife. God will do what He wants to do and if it means to kill to get His work done then He will kill.

    it would also be nice if hamas would quit shooting rockets at them, but i don't know the big picture like God does so i can't really say what or why all this is happening.

    if hamas was shooting rockets at you and also broke an agreement to cease fire on top of that, would you just go ahead and let them keep doing it without defending yourself in any way ?

    Israel is just in what they are doing. In the past they have relied on the USA to stop the bombardments, but as we have a Muslim president and the USA will not help them any longer. They have taken actions into their own hands and no one can blame them yet the media is blaming them and saying that Israel is the cause of the problem.

    That means bad stuff for the USA.

    Why can't people understand that everything that happens comes from God Himself?
    You think that God just sits back up in Heaven watches down on us without nothing to do?
    He is forever working in men's hearts from the beginning of time.

    This is not new..
