Default Where did all the apostles go?

During and just after when Jesus walked just after his ascension all the apostles dried up. I understand that some of the apostles fulfilled Joel 2:28 but why the 2000 year plus gap with no one really prophetizing and performing miracles. The so called Churches after Rome seems to have walked on the wrong path as a whole. Did the Great Delusion/Deception start then? It appears Joel 2:28 has not yet reached completion.

    Joel 2:28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.

What I do know Christmas, Easter, Halloween are not God's feasts.

Daniel 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws

From Moadim - The Appointed times

The root meaning of the word season is the Hebrew word "moade or moadim", it means "an appointed time, a festival." In the Hebrew Stone’s Edition Tanach, (O.T.) Genesis 1:14 translates "… and they shall serve as signs, and for festivals, and for days and years." Psalm 104:9 "God appointed the moon for seasons" the word seasons again is "moadim" which is "appointed times, festivals."

It sounds like reading Joel and Revelation that new prophets and disciples during the end times will start again. I am just wondering why the large gap without the whole truth.

Joel contains a dual prophesy.....half fulfilled on the 50th day (Pentecost) during the 1st century and still within the Apostolic age with the rest of prophecy coming at the end of the age........

    Acts 2:16-21 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The last days are referred to and stretch from the cross to when Christ returns. No gaps.
We have the Truth, it's called Holy Scripture.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
    (Psa 20:7)

    • Joel 2:23 (KJV)

Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
    • Hosea 6:3 (KJV)

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The rain is falling all around us now

But there has been a gap between the last Apostle until the end days.

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

It has been two days (2000) years since Christ last walked the earth and God willing he will revive us soon and raise us up in third day (millennium).

Behold, I lay in Sion [the Church] a chief corner stone, elect, precious:
and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto
you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them
which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed,
the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the
word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed”

    that's an interpretive gap/man made.
It may be another 2000 years. Those of us in Christ may see that passage as our identification with Christ's death and resurrection.

Hi Rachel, not exactly what I meant. I am talking about new disciples. At the time after Jesus there were new disciples like Timothy learning the way then all of a sudden they stop and no new disciples are around.

actually i did realize what you meant and my post was a response to what i knew you meant...but i chose to make my statement subtle so probably it wasn't clear to you what i was trying to say...so now i will make my meaning totally clear...

i believe there are apostles today...but they are the same apostles from 2,000 years ago...the only difference is that all of them are now in heaven...but when they went to heaven they did not lose their apostleship and their apostolic ministry continues to this day through the scriptures and foundations they left behind...

i don't believe that new apostles were appointed to come after them...new apostles would be completely unnecessary since the foundation has already been laid and the ministry of the original apostles is still ongoing...

Default Re: Where did all the apostles go?

there is and only will be 12 Apostles, judging the spiritual seed of Israel... Christ is '''''THE""" CHIEF CORNER STONE NOT "A" CHIEF CORNER STONE..... IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE WHEN WORDS ARE CHANGED....IF YOU USE "A" MEAN THERE ARE OTHERS, IF YOU USE "THE" MEANING THE ONE AND ONLY... thought I might add that..... like if someone say God is "a" God, that means there is more then just one God... but we know He is THE GOD of heaven and earth....

Okay with that being said: once The Apostles taught everything God wanted use to know for then, now and in the future... we must learn and live it.........
everything that we know to know about what God has planned for the whole world from the beginning of time till the end of the world as we know it has been given freely to us in His Holy living Word. When the Holy Spirit manifest in a believer and move them to prophecy it will not be for the world but for that individual person, or nation for the near future, and not the future that has been spoken of in the Word of God, and it will line up with everything God has or would have said given their situation..... Now for the Miracles: these signs shall follow all that BELIEVE.... if you look in the word most miracles followed preaching of God's kingdom, and the Son of God, the Cross of the Son of God, salvation and so forth.... And God CONFIRMED HIS WORD..... WITH MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS..... HE WILL NOT CONFIRM MAN'S WORD, BUT HIS OWN, when the Gospel is preached the way God had it written, then God will manifest him self to prove what we say is true about him.......... or the devil as the Lord said will do false miracles, signs and lying wonders.... meaning they will only last for a moment....... some people as been hypnotized to believe that there pain is gone, yet it is still there ad they just don't feel it, I have read where people pain actually move from one place in their bodies to another, and think there is something else going on yet their minds has been tampered with and they still have the same sickness.

We also see in the Word of God, that everyone who was healed was healed by someone who believed ( Jesus Christ, His disciples, and the Apostles, even those who did not follow The Lord, yet Believed on His name) was able to perform miracles..

So we ought to not put to much on SEEING miracles, signs and wonders because they can come from all sides....... yet only one is lasting, only one is true.... so don't try to know God by what liars can fake copy..... get to know the Lord our God by What he alone can do..... WE are the vessels of the Spirit of the Living God..... and what ever we need He will provide.... but without the Word of God being preached........ other than fervent prayer of the righteous servants of God , IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, BY THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH GIFTS........ YOU WILL GET NOTHING BUT FAKE POWERS, DECEIVING MANY...... READ 1 CORITHIANS 12 AND 14 .... THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAVE CONTROL OF THE POWER OF GOD THAT DWELLS IN US AND NOT US......... DID NOT PETER TELL THE MAN AND THE PEOPLE WHEN HE ENTERED THE TEMPLE AND THE LAME MAN WHO SET AT THE GATE BEAUTIFUL WHO WAS HEALED... NOT TO LOOK AT THEM AS THOUGH THEY HAD SOME POWER, BUT IT IS THE THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHICH WAS GIVEN THEY FROM THE LORD JESUS CHRIST THAT HEALED THE MAN????? We have to let go of man made doctrine and yield our selves to the true power of THE ALMIGHTY GOD, IF SO THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD DWELLS IN YOU, YOU ARE HIS.... AND THE SAME SPIRIT IS THE VERY ANOINTING OF GOD, HE DOES NOT COME AND GO AS WE CALL FOR HIM, ( THAT IS DEMONIC ) HE DO NOT FALL ON US, HE WILL BE WITH US AND AS WE GROW IN GOD AND DIE TO SELF, HE WILL BE IN US....
Therefore talk to the Lord God about where you should go, and who you shall preach to, and if you preached the truth, GOD WILL CONFIRM IT WHERE NO MAN COULD RESIST.... IF THEY BELIEVE, EVEN THE SIZES OF A MUSTARD SEED...... THEY WILL SEE THE POWER OF GOD MANIFEST IN YOU....

The Apostles were the foundation of the church, Christ being the cornerstone. The church still stands, and so does the foundation. So why should we need more foundation when it is already being built upon.

There are still disciples. If anyone is a Christian he/she is also to be a disciple. A disciple is simply a learner.
