Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

When we lose sight of Jesus thats the time when spiritual drought sets in. When we focus more on ourselves and our problems than on Jesus, trouble comes in.

Being tested by God reminds us that our function and task is to be about His business, that our purpose is to be an extension of his nature, an ambassador of His throne room, and a proclaimer of His message. We know our purpose. God has not hidden His will from His people. Our master does not play games with us. We know who we are. We know what we are for. There may be a question now and then about how and with whom we should carry out His mission. But the underlying truth is the same: we are God's people and we are to be about his business. If we live our lives in this way, then we can enter into our final years with the assurance of knowing that life was well spent and that heaven is but a wink away. ~ Max Lucado "On the Anvil"

I love this. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you Tinkerbell

It's been my experience that if I had praised and worshiped God through the good times as much as I did throughout the bad times, I probably wouldn't have so many bad times. Often God uses the bad times to get us back on track. But, unfortunately we are just like Israel. we go through some bad stuff and call on God and He sets us free and we get fat and forget, so bad times come again and we call on God and we get better and we forget.
Funny, I praised and worshipped God more during the good times and tend to stay away during the bad times. I tend to rebel when I am experiencing some problems.

I've been in the world and I'm now a Christian, and it is harder to not have the Lord. What is hard when you are going through a difficult time is that you don't doubt that God CAN do anything, but WILL He? We need to come to the place where we are content in any circumstance, knowing that no matter what the answer is He is taking care of us and loves us and in the end it is all for our good even if it does not feel good.

Jesus asked Peter three times "Do you love me?"

In Peter's spiritual drought, The Lord reminds Peter of the important virtue which Peter never lost, Peter lost faith and hope, but never lost his love for Jesus Christ. In our spiritual droughts we must stand firm in our Love of Jesus Chris.

"Nothing can separate us from the love of God..."

if we stop loving God our salvation can be lost not because God has stopped loving us but because we stop loving God.

God knows our weakness in the flesh, but has cleansed all our sins in Jesus Chrisf, all God asks us is to love him.

Many claim faith is the most important virtue. But my opinion is love is the most important virtue.

just a thought.

Yes, it helped especially this one "who else are you going to turn to". A reminder once in a while that there is no one else out there is good. Thank you...
This was based on a passage in the Bible, a beautiful statement of Peter,

From John 6:

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. ... From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? THEN SIMON PETER ANSWERED HIM, LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO? THOU HAST THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

There's a sermon for the ages by Adrian Rogers on this, I believe called "Why I Believe in Jesus Christ." It concerns a sermon he gave in the former Soviet Union, Adrian's account of this, how the Lord lead him to teach from that passage. It's wonderful, moved my soul much, brought those verses to life, in living color, just a great sermon that crystallizes Christianity. But an aspect of these verses that also make me very sad is how the Lord Jesus asked His best friends if they'd now also leave Him, and bless Peter's reply.

The bible teaches us to pray without ceasing...
Especially in times that we feel we are falling away. We are strengthened through the word and He will renew our minds.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing,

Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you
Awesome response, and you know what I think about your level of understanding HAHAHAHA Good POST mi amiga

You mean that God deals with each of us personally? God knows each of our thoughts and what is best for each of us? WOW!!!

What do you do during the process. How do you stop to question the logic of your faith?
I dont care about the logic of my faith, I have what you would call blind faith with him. It makes no sense to me most of the time why he does things he does why he allows and doesnt allow what he does nor can I even begin to think of a good reason but I simply dont care I know he does and doesnt do everything for a divine reason and I am willing to just believe he has it all under control and that he will eventually reveal me the reason and the good from it. and you know what? every single time he did even sometimes while I was going through what you call a severe spiritual drought like months on end drought and spiritual attacks.

I am still waiting on some but I simply trust him. When going through a spiritual drought you will have doubts you will be brought to tears you may even question him possibly even get a little angry but its what you choose to do and believe in the end that matters. Oh yes I questioned him I got frustrated but I never quit believing in him I never even stopped praying I sought him even harder those times feeling a deep hunger and thirst for him that no matter what I did was never satisfied only given a small drink here and there.

I cant tell you how many nights I went to bed drowning in my tears going against un passable mountains that I still cannot pass but I knew what I was in for when I accepted Christ. I accepted from the start I might have to suffer greatly, but I still have even greater sufferings ahead of me. Why is this? Because of one simple prayer, I asked to be strong. I wanted to love and see ppl just as he does, for them to be as precious to me as they are to him to go so far to suffer greatly like he did even for the sake of one person. I am after a dangerous faith and love so thats why I must go through much, but even in all this my love for God only seems to grow deeper stronger richer and more abundant and its that love that keeps me strong

Very inspiring. But in your walk with God, do you never experience a low point. Do you always walk on the water with Him and never sink?
Read through 1 Kings 19.1-8.

It is the story of ELijah the Prophet and how he felt after he won a huge victory on Mt. Carmel. It is important to see what God did for him, he forced Elijah to rest and sent an Angel, twice, to bake Elijah a cake and give him a cruse of water and then and only then was Elijah able to run 40 days into his next assignment.

There will be valleys after mountain top views and God is faithful to give us what we need to make it through those times.

Another good one for this is 1 Samuel 30.

1 Cor 10.13 says:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Do not ever let any Christian tell you they don't get down in the dumps....or they are more spiritual than you for you getting wrung out like a dish rag from life.

The Bible gives us to stories to show us we will go through droughts and valleys...aand it shows us how God is faithful restore us through those times.

That one I wouldn't dare.
Absolutely, trust beyond measure for the enemy wants to see us squirm and run, not have any fun, unless we bow down as tried in the test of Christ where he said I will give you all the kingdoms here in this world, if you bow down and worship me, and Christ refused all the way to being whipped and did not fight back in the flesh did he? Best example I know to trust no matter what for he is risen
Might be having a flesh drought, for the evil can harm the body and even kill the flesh yet can't touch the soul

Been dead too many times and exercise that every time, ready to go home whenever God decides not me, or any one else
