Today, all over the world are people gathered in Christ’s name, and for those who don’t know the Messiah came, they gather in God’s name.They light candles they keep burning so the light of the Lord shines in their homes this day.
Here are words many of them say as they light the candles, all people joining in the same way to speak to their God and Savior.
With the first candle:“ On the seventh day God completed His work He had done, and He rested on the seventh day.And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it.”
With the second candle:“Father, continue Your loving kindness to me and my family and grant us and all Israel a good and long life.Remember us with favor and blessing and consider us with salvation and compassion, bless us with great blessing, complete our families and cause Your Glory to dwell among us.Keep far from us all manner of shame, grief, and care; and grant that peace, light, and joy abide in our home forever.For You, Christ, are our light.Amen.”
