Can anybody recommend any books (besides the Bible, of course) that do a good job arguing the young earth creationism viewpoint?

Henry Morris has some good books. I read Zola Levitt's book, Creation: A Scientist's Choice before I got saved, and it persuaded me evolution was not true. A really neat book to read, which was published in 1941 is The Evolution Hoax Exposed, by A N Field. It documents the early years of evolution infiltrating the universities and school systems.

I hope some other people will also post on this topic.

Thanks! I looked Henry Morris up on amazon and his books do look interesting. I think I'll try out The Genesis Flood first. Thanks again for the recs, I really appreciate it. :)

Oh, there are plenty. Just check out Creation Ministries International, Answers In Genesis and to a lesser extent The Institute for Creation Research for a whole host of quality resources. CMI's latest book is called "Evolution Achilles' Heels". It's written by 9 Phd scientists and refutes the so-called immovable pillars of evolutionary belief.

You're most welcome, my sister.

A great starter is "The Creation Answers Book". Inside you'll find answered more than 60 of the most-asked questions about creation, evolution, and the Book of Genesis!

Only if your standard for evidence is reading some misinterpretations of inherently flawed or already disproven experiments. Here's a comprehensive index of refutations to every known creationist claim linked to peer reviewed, published scientific journals and lengthy articles discrediting such theories, written by and referenced to people at the top of their fields.

It should be a bookmark for every creationist.

here are a few that i really value...

radioisotopes and the age of the earth...two volumes...edited by dr. larry vardiman and dr. andrew snelling and dr. eugene chaffin... but watch out...much of this book is -very- technical and -not- easy...

thousands not billions...by dr. don deyoung... this is a much easier book about the same radioisotope research...

coming to grips with genesis...edited by dr. terry mortenson and dr. thane ury... this book focuses more on the exegetical issues in the debate...

earth's catastrophic past...two volumes...by dr. andrew snelling... this book centers on dr. snelling's exposition of flood geology...though he deals with a few other topics too...

one that i am really looking forward to that is not out yet is grappling with the chronology of the genesis flood...by dr. steven boyd and dr. andrew snelling...

here are a few non young earth creationist books that i still find very useful...

the case for a creator...by lee strobel... the core of this book is a series of interviews with various scientists who believe in a creator...

modern physics and ancient faith...by dr. stephen barr... in spite of its title this book also spends a lot of time on philosophical issues about a creator and the existence of a non material human soul...

Honestly, Santa! Give up, bro.
There are some faulty biblical creationist arguments but they're not to be used. CMI even dedicates some of their website to these arguments. At least they endeavour to tell the amend their arguments once a mistake has been found. Evolutionists just try to draw attention away from their mistakes. Their whole religion is built on 'adult' fairy tales.

continued...

I read a book called The Genesis Record. It was really good and for being almost 36 years old, the book didn't date badly at all (just a bit of geology knowledge was out-of-date). Most of the information therein is still correct to this day and that's because everything inside was founded in the solid truth of God's Word. The same can't be said for evolution books from even 10 years ago. They change their story more often than some people change their underwear!

While I'm NOT a YEC, the Talk Origins website is a decade out of touch with modern science, and contains alot of spurious garbage...

I highly recommend 'The Genesis Debate'.....which gives a balanced view of YEC....OEC...and Framework models.

You decide which one(s) best fit with science and scripture...

I believe the Earth is young, not because of science, but because I wouldn't be caught dead with an older planet (I'm only attracted to younger planets!!!).

I used to like watching the Creation Today Show when it had Paul Taylor. You might like the older episodes and them helpful.
