There has been alot of discussion about which bible is the right one, or which ones are decieving, or what does one trust lately.

Now, Im not talkng about the obvious deceptions, ones written for a different god or belief, or like the pocket bibles I picked up at the discount store that had large portions misprinted even saying do this where it should have said dont do this. :)
Note to self, not all bargains are a bargain. LOL :)

But this is speaking to the debates where one asks which Bible is a true translation, and which ones are not a good translation.
Or questions like? How do we know that all the bible is not been changed, or part of a conspearacy.

I wondered about such myself at one time, as a friend had rejected the Bible saying all had been distorted, was now a lie.

I pondered it for a while, even started to be afraid, but in prayer, this simple answer came to me in Jesus.

Faith. :)

Now Im not saying we shouldnt be wise and watchful.

What is being said here is simply, faith, for Jesus said, he would not let any take you from His hand.

God's word is inspired, but all understanding comes from God through the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh! :)

So, simply said, Do you think an all powerful and loving God would allow His word and understanding to be taken from you?

Also, if we are not to rely on our own understanding, but on that given through the Holy Spirit?
We can be confident that God will not fail us, nor let His word be removed from our hearts.

Scripture says..."The grass fades and the flowers wither, but the word of the Lord stands forever!"

Anyway, I just figure, we will have a much greater truth and understanding given, if in faith, we trust all to God Our Father.

Rather than in the fearful consperacies of men.

With so great powerful and loving God, why would we look or consider anything less, than faith in Jesus, God Our Father, His Holy Spirit! :)

God bless

Pickles, you have been sitting quietly listening to the Lord, I can tell. You aren't speaking of fear, confusion, or judging. There is no "ain't it just AWFUL" but a lot of praise the Lord. Not even listening to how intelligent man is, but a lot of the Lord's wisdom.

You even mention about that when we have the Lord with us we need have no fear.

But I also remember that we are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. I search and search for any way to hear words as direct from the Lord as possible and with the least interpretation. I think that is wise. So I found knowing the culture of the people God is using to explain is good. I just dug up a report by the guys working with latest archeology that classical Hebrew wasn't a dead language in Jesus' time as much as was thought. Hebrew was probably still important, even classical Hebrew. According to what literature written by guys at that time said the gospels were first written in Hebrew but very soon translated into language more popular. I think it is wise to gather as much information as we can about our scripture and figure out how it can help with our understanding of what scripture wants us to know.

I agree Redtent, that we are to search the scriptures for truth and compare.
We know as well that there are those who have been gifted in this by God.

But, to often, we can bring what is good, to a point where it places a burden on some, espcially when it turns into un-ending debates that bring confusion to some.
Peter even spoke to this kind of thing being the ruin of some believers.
We need to be careful sometimes, that we do not place burdens where they can cause injury.

The point of this thread though, was to encourage all in knowing we are in the care by faith, of a powerful and loving God.
Who has also given His son Jesus, so that His truth and grace sustains us along with covering us, providing all needed by faith.
We can walk confident by faith, that Jesus is watchful over us, and not fear.

We can do everything, but with out faith, all we do will be fruitless.
But, as long all we do is done in faith in Jesus, everything needed will be given, and all done will bare fruit. :)

May we, in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh, run for the goal of faith, hope and love we are called to.
We may always also know in faith, that God Our Father will take care that we have our feet solidly set on every rock as we persue the goal.

The point of this thread, is not to dismiss the truth in Jesus. :)
But to remind us that, in Jesus, the truth is always with us. :)

God bless

I agree. I have some small measure of skill in the Greek just as many on here do so the issue of translation for me is of no particular concern. What I have discovered over the years is form it that Jesus is lord, he is the God of creation and what he requires if us. This is true even of such a perverted translation as the NWT. Even as prostituted as the Greek is in that translation, one can still prove the deity of Christ and learn how to be a child of God. So, although I do have my preferences,
it is really of little consequence to me which translation I use.
