What should we do about false prophets?

As we get deep in scripture with a humble spirit so we can freely learn we all see false teachings around us. Some of it is basic to the Lord, for instance teaching that God the creator did not show love in the teaching in the Old Testament.God IS love, to teach that scripture shows God isn’t love is a major distortion of God.This particular distortion is not what I would like you to comment on, but what to do about distortions we see.I point to one as an example.

Most of us have spotted glaring errors in understanding that is part of today’s church. Some of us say it has to do with a denomination of the church and post on and on about the entire denomination.

Most of these posts point out what they think are errors, few comment on the way scripture says it should be. If they do try, often they use a few scriptures without making those scriptures fit in with the rest of scripture.Posts on works are notorious for this, especially by listing anything to say works are no good.It is only one example.Posts by people who have done thorough studies of a subject so they know all the teachings of a subject are usually waved aside.They can’t post an entire study, one sided ones can post a few scriptures on the one side, and distortions only are brought out.

Do you have any suggestions about what God would have us do it help teach God to the world?

Well Redtent the way things are and the way people are they will always find a way to misuse twist and misunderstand scripture. People dont want to listen to sound doctrine and they arent willing to believe or admit they were wrong. I think God wants us to do our best in teaching the truth, even to deaf ears. If they refuse to listen or accept the truth theres no point in continually debating with them as that will only make them less willing to accept sound doctrine. Every now and then you will find a person who is humble and will accept the truth, but for most their own beliefs are the sound doctrine and truth.

Just a little at a time and one day at a time my friend, even if you teach only 5 or 10 out of 400 or 1000 people the truth and who God is and who we are in him and about his love that brings thousands of praises in heaven. Enough to shake the heavens themselves

My sister.....I hope you are well.....I think that when people do these things they are doing
a disservice to themselves......we all can learn from eachother.....the only right I want to be is
with God......and if im misinformed or misleading id want to be corrected.....it just seems some
take correction to a angry level......or that it proves weakness......but the only thing is when they
respond that way it just proves lack of wisdom......their loss....God just wants us to put it out there
even if they are not listening.....at least then even if they dont hear....you have been an obedient
and caring soul..pleasing to our Father.......and for that is all we can do.....and pray they catch up....

Who exactly are you accusing of being a false prophet?
Don't you know the Scripture? Why ask if you are supposed to know what Scripture says??

When someone says a wrong thing about the One True God I reply. If a new post is necessary, then good, we can talk about it.
Are you going to get in the flesh and try to restrain this Christian and dictate what he can post and how many times? I don't do that to you, so why are you doing it to me (Matt 7:12)??

Or are you not obedient?

And I asked a question. Why are you quick to judge. At least I don't come at people side-ways like you. I confront head on as Christ taught His people.

Well, you can look at my name and with the resistance I've been getting on my post I did come to him and there was no sin in asking.

What IF he is talking about me? What will you do?

That's how cliques start.

And there's a clique of spiritual dictators at EVERY "christian" website.

I think all of us posters need to stop thinking of ourselves and think of only scripture and the Lord in order to help each other arrive at the truth.

I have watched resistance to your posts and I don't think any resistance is against you as a person who loves the Lord. We all think better when our eyes are on Christ instead of ourselves. Then no person could manage to be a "spiritual dictator" but what they say would only have scripture in mind, not making judgments of other people. Then we would each be free to say "I don't think scripture says that" and to respond with "I am sure that is what scripture says" with only Christ and scripture involved, not dragging in individuals.
