Sadly there are many lukewarm Christians, more than anyone would care to count. Being Luke warm is being in a state where the Fire that makes our hearts burn For God has sizzled out, where we are in a state of mind where we say we are Christians but in all honesty arent that interested in God.

I have always feared becoming such person, losing the fire, losing the amazingly deep and powerful love for God and of God is just to much for me to bear thinking about.
Now as for the church and the body of Christ there are many lukewarm ppl but there are also lots of ppl who arent lukewarm but lack that fire inside just sort of going through the motions. After all what is faith if we are not on fire for God? what is a Christian if there is not an awe inspiring deep and great Love in them?

The holy spirit is that fire and longs to be blazing inside us, if you were in church and had spiritual eyes and were sitting next to a person who is on fire for God you would probably see him or her having a blazing fire engulfing around them and you might think they are on fire for real lol.

The point is beware of the state of lukewarm because it can sneak up on you

Perhaps if people understood the more we eat, the hungrier we get.. Speaking in terms of things like praying, reading, worshipping etc.
Then there would be less lukewarm, and in all honesty I've had many times where I've had to admit to God I wasn't interested in seeking Him and asked for His help.

Fan the flame, don't think you have to be ultra spiritual and read and pray for hours, if you have to start off small, at least open your bible and read a few verses, just talk to God about anything. You try to apply too much fanning to a small flame it'll burn out. But if the flame gets bigger you apply more and more fanning. Stop comparing yourselves to others, because I would say a lot of lukewarmness comes from discouragement.
Just my 2c

Oh and I would say at times, turn off the Christian media, turn off YouTube sermons and articles etc. And spend quiet time with the Lord, let Him speak to you firsthand, much better than secondhand information.

To be lukewarm is not actually choosing to be on fire for the LORD and also not being cold extremely against the LORD. These type of people make GOD sick the Bible says GOD spews them out. Meaning they would be in HIM and yet HE vomits them out because it is upsettling for them to be within HIM. When one vomits it is due to the mere fact what is in them is best that it is outside the body for it causes the whole body discomfort.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Blessings!!!!!!!

One thing- be careful how you interpret 'vomiting out'. Remember this Revelation passage:

Rev_3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Is addressed to a whole church family.

This is about a church family losing the presence of the Holy Spirit 'in their midst'. Not about an individual, although of course a church having no Holy Spirit would affect the individual-- but the individual hasn't lost their indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

There is a difference between the Holy Spirit dwelling 'in the midst' of a local church family. And dwelling 'in' an individual. This Revelation passage is about the former.
