Gen 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

What is the true meaning of this?
Does it apply to people we do not know who may be on the other side of the Earth?
Does not "Love thy neighbor as thyself" go hand in hand with this?

If all the above is applicable then why is it that some here (especially in a leadership role) continue to throw sarcasm at their "brother in Christ:?

Their mean hot heads. Don't control their emotions. Babies in Christ if they really are Christians. Never learned the first commands about love. But have all the verses memorized just don't live by them. Can I bang you on the side of your head with my bible?

I think it only refers to the fact that Cain was lying and pretending not to know where Abel is when in fact, he knows where he buried him. I don't feel like there's anything deeper than that.

No idea but it was nice not to have subscription emails for a few days ^.^ I think when it comes to the Internet, most people will display their true feelings but in real life, they would never say half the things that are said here to people's faces.

When everyone in your life seems to fail you and give you bad advice this is our opportunity as a child of the MOST HIGH GOD to step in and help them. We are charged by GOD to be there for those who need love just as GOD was there when we needed it. YES, we are to be our brothers keeper......in every way possible...

I vote yes. but if I ws a heathen... I would proably vote YES.
I think only the pp that would vote NO, would be the selfish rich. As they would have to do something about it.
Whereas christians are already geared for this task.

But that implies that one would have to do everything in their power to turn a person around if they turn their back on God. Except... that's God's job...

I voted no just to show that not only selfish people will vote no. :)
