I went to a church service the other day and the pastor said being unequally yolked didn't only me religion but also race. I thought this was crazy. I didn't think God would care about the race of people. So now I am confused. So if too people who are Christians and love each other but are a different race its a sin?

The Bible does not even use the word race in reference to people, but it does describe all human beings as being of “one blood” (Acts 17:26). This of course emphasizes that we are all related, as all humans are descendants of the first man, Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45), who was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26–27). The Last Adam, Yashua (1 Corinthians 15:45) also became a descendant of Adam. In fact, science is catching up with the Bible proving genetically there are not differences among “races”. Those working on mapping the human genome announced “that they had put together a draft of the entire sequence of the human genome, and the researchers had unanimously declared, there is only one race—the human race.”(N. Angier, Do races differ? Not really, DNA shows, New York Times web, Aug. 22, 2000.) The Bible makes clear in Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:11, and Romans 10:12–13 that in regard to salvation, there is no distinction between male or female or Jew or Greek. In Christ, any separation between people is broken down. As Christians, we are one in Christ and thus have a common purpose—to live for Him who made us. This oneness in Christ is vitally important to understanding marriage. This is why Paul states in 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” According to the Bible, the priority in marriage is that a Christian should marry only a Christian. If one wants to use the term “interracial,” then the real interracial marriage that God says we should not enter into is when a child of the Last Adam (one who is a new creation in Messiah—a Christian) marries one who is an unconverted child of the First Adam (one who is dead in trespasses and sin—a non-Christian).

If they teach that then who knows what else they could be teaching that is unbiblical...I would suggest finding another church.

Ya, I'm not even sure if I want to go to church at this point in my life. Most of them either are unbiblical or judgmental . I don't want either of that.

I agree. a good summary of the Biblical view of "races".

Do not give up so easily. The church is an important part of your walk in Christ as well as your maturing process.

FYI

GOD is the color of the vessel HE lives in. So, if your black, brown, yellow, white, red, or a combination of any this is the color of GOD as long as your saved and HE lives in you. IF GOD does not separate the races and HE sees all races being equal so should churches and people in general.

God did not forbid the Israelites to mix with the Canaanites this was for racial reasons. It was for religious reasons – or to put in New Testament words unequally yoked! The Torah says in Exodus 34:10-16 and note how this is clearly shown to be a religious (or, cultural) matter – not a racial one: 'And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.' (Exodus 34:16). The Israelites were warned not to form alliances/friendships with the tribes within the Promised Land in order not to dilute/compromise their knowledge of the things of God which had been revealed to them. In fact the Torah even show G-d is not against “interracial” marriage that is not unequally yoked. In Numbers 12:1-10 we find an account of Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman:
Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses regarding the Cu****e woman he had married, for he had married a Cu****e woman. They said, "Has the Lord spoken only to Moses? Hasn't He spoken to us too?" And the Lord heard. Now this man Moses was exceedingly humble, more so than any person on the face of the earth. The Lord suddenly said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, "Go out, all three of you, to the Tent of Meeting!" And all three went out. The Lord descended in a pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tent. He called to Aaron and Miriam, and they both went out. He said, "Please listen to My words. If there be prophets among you, the Lord will make Myself known to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream. Not so is My servant Moses; he is faithful throughout My house. With him I speak mouth to mouth; in a vision and not in riddles, and he beholds the image of the Lord. So why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses? The wrath of the Lord flared against them and He left. The cloud departed from above the Tent, and behold, Miriam was afflicted with tzara'ath, [as white] as snow. Then Aaron turned to Miriam and behold, she was afflicted with tzara'ath.

The woman Moses married was “dark “skinned. Now the LORD repeatedly asks Moses to be a faithful, consistent and obedient leader, but on this occasion, Moses is not challenged by the LORD, but by Miriam and Aaron! Miriam and Aaron were upset with Moses because he married a Cu****e woman. The LORD showed anger towards Miriam and Aaron for their challenge to Moses over his non-Israelite wife!

Actually, all I meant to quote was actually “up to the time Peter shared the gift of the HOLY GHOST to the gentiles UNEQUALLY YOKED was”, all the rest that you said was great stuff. And it’s not like that part is “bad” either I was just clarifying Jew-to-Genital marriage from the Old Testament. But I was not smarter than the technology and I messed it all up. Sorry that kind of stuff (technology problems) happens to me all the time;)

2 Corinthians 6:14-18, 1 Corinthians 7:1-4.

Theres nothing in the bible that speaks on people of opposite cultures dating eachother. Salvation is by grace not by race.

I understand what you mean about finding a church that isn't judgemental or teaching unbiblical things. Try getting together with a group of mature Christians for a personal Bible study. Church doesn't have to be a building with a name and denomination. Anytime you study Christian life with someone else you are having Church.

As long as you can obey God's calling upon and design for the church. The biggest difficulties that I have seen with these kind of informal settings are: accountablility to the catholic church, responsibility for world missions, and survivability.

Okay the deal is I'm 17 pregnant and about to get married. So the church thinks its their duty to tell us that we are sinning (maybe it is) Yes, we messed up once but we aren't doing it anymore. I just became a Christian last week confused and I'm not mature enough as a Christian to go to a mature bible study. I've been watching church on T.V. I like Joel Osteen and T.D. Jakes. Until I find a church I like, I probably won't be going to church.
