Advice for a friend...

Hi everyone, or whoever reads this thread

A friend wants to go door to door evangelising because she wants to just get out there and tell people the good news.

She has some simple evangelising ideas but doesn't have anyone to go with her....

Do you think she'd be OK to go on her own??

She's knocked on doors before when she was a market research interviewer before so has no qualms about talking to strangers and knocking on their doors...

Any advice on how to find a local evangelising partner ((( who isn't work based salvation or any other questionable beliefs .... She's finding it a challenge to find people who share the simple gospel truth... and let people be led by The Holy Spirit to wherever He leads them....)))

Personally I believe Jesus sent out evangelisers in pairs... So they could watch each other's back and also be accountable to one another...

She said it's difficult to not be overshadowed by leaders who have put her off before by telling her she needs a leader with her but she believes she's qualified enough to share The Gospel message and doesn't need to be shadowed or chaperoned by Church leaders who then go on to promote their Church or theology instead of the simple saving message of salvation.....

Any advice is welcome, thanks so much.

This is a blog, not a thread. Blogs receive few to no answers. You'll need to post in actual threads if you want responses.

Like Ugly said, you'd get more responses in a thread instead of a blog. Honestly, it greatly depends upon SO many situations.

I would do it in my hometown. It's small, and people tend to know about other people and be watching out for them. There are two houses I can think of right off the bat that I would NOT go to by myself. A bigger city or more hostile environment would be something totally different.

Is she with a church? Isn't there a friend from there who could go with her, even just as backup?

I believe that your friend needs to go out with another friend or acquaintance for safety and support.

Thanks for pointing that out, sorry about that....

Maybe blogs are just for posting out thoughts, or a journal type thingy...

I'll just respond to people then delete and repost in the forum.. Thanks !!

Thanks for your reply, I'll delete this and repost but just wanted to respond...

Yes, I suppose the geographics are something to consider regarding whether to go alone... The more I've thought on it, I think Jesus had a good reason for sending out His disciples in two's...

Shes not not attending a Church at the moment... She found her last Church, although very encouraging in engaging her with plenty to do, when she expressed wanting to evangelise, they avoided the issue and pointed her solely to the Churches activities and said she'd need a leader to supervise... She said this left her frustrated because they didn't evangelise directly but only through social activities and programmes...

But the idea of just having someone as back-up sounds good... She's thinking she needs someone who wants to share The Gospel too, she doesn't want to be held back in telling people the Good news.. That's all she wants to do..

Thanks for your ideas, Jesus bless

I think you're right you know, I honestly believe Jesus was thinking of safety and support, like you said, when He sent His disciples out two by two... Thanks for your thoughts
