A true spirit filled believer no longer commits sin. One who commits sin is one who is still in darkness, and have not received the spirit of Christ. 1 JOHN; 3;8; He that committed sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. We that have the spirit of Christ in us are not of the devil, even though we sin. The unholy that walk in darkness are the ones that commit sin, because they are dedicated, and committed to sin. It is what they love to do. ROMANS;7; 14; For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin,.15; For that which I do I allow not;( meaning the sin in me ,I no longer allow to control me.) , but what I hate, that do I.(meaning I hate what I am in this sinful flesh, and without the Holy spirit, I would continue to do.) 16'; If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.(meaning, without the spirit of Christ in me, I would not do the things of God,and would not want to do them., but now that the spirit of Christ is in me, I do those things that are righteous. 17; Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me..(You see, sin still dwells in the believer) .18; For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing. ; for to will is present with me(meaning, my human will is still present with me as a true believer). but how to perform that which is good I find not(meaning, I cannot perform righteousness in the flesh, but only in the spirit.). 19; For the good that I would I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do.(meaning, that the good I should do, I do not do it, because I still walk in darkness. , and the evil I should not do, I do it anyway.) 20; Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.(meaning, if now I do the things I should not, It is the sin in the flesh, and not my spirit man.,and there is now no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus., since he have condemed sin in our bodies.) 21; I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. . 22; For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.(meaning, the spiritual man, the real me.) 23;;But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.24; O wretched man that I am ! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25; I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord, So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. (So, you see, we are not saved from sin, because it will always exist in our flesh , but instead ,we are saved from the condemnation that sin leads us to, and that is eternal death. Blessed be the reader of these words.

Well according to 1 John 2:1 gabriel, "My little children, (little children here means Christians), I am writing these things to you that you man not sin, AND if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous." If as you say gabriel, "A true spirit filled believer no longer commits sin." then how come we need an advocate if we do sin?

Secondly, at 1 John 3:7-9, "Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who "PRACTICES" righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous. vs8, and the one "WHO PRACTICES" sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil."

Vs9, No one who is born of God "PRACTICES" sin, because (or why gabriel?) His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." The point of all this is the idean that a born again Christian still commits sin yet we do not make sin a practice or habit and that is also why we have an advocate in Jesus Christ. To put it another way, "If you (as a Christian) do not hate sin then there is something wrong with your Christianity."

1 John 2:1 is a LOT more comforting than Hebrews 10:26-27:

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Somebody better tell Paul, and extract what that sinner wrote in the bible. The 'chief of sinners' as he declared himself (I Tim 1:15 - This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners"--and I am the worst of them all). Am, not was. Interesting.
And whose pride was so great God had to give him a 'thorn in his side' to keep him humble.
"II Cor 12:7 - Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me—so that I would not become arrogant".
Huh, he was not able to stop himself from sinning, so God had to step in to prevent it. But why would God send a messenger of satan to counter a sin that Paul is not responsible for?

Oh, and better boot out Peter, who after three years of following Jesus, in person, and seeing and being a part of miracles, and being one of 12 people in the word to be among the closest followers of Jesus then denied Jesus repeatedly. Sounds like sin to me. So somebody go tell Jesus how wrong he was for making that sinner the 'rock on which my church will stand' Matt 16:18.

Once we correctly remove those sinners out of the bible and church, since, if they sinned, could not possible have been saved, that leaves us with... ummm... not much. And what should be do about Jesus for choosing a sinner to be the rock his church will stand on? A slap on the wrist or something stronger? Maybe he's a sinner too since God would never have chosen a dirty, filthy sinner for such a job.
Great logic. You have managed to erase 3/4 of the NT and make Jesus a sinner.

Not to mention your verse to bluto actually supported his point.

That's good. I like that truth. But what I was saying is that believers are not committed to sin like the world is committed. everyday and all day. We are committed to serving God, even though we fall in to sin daily one way or another. That is why scripture say that our sins are covered, because of our commitment to God, and not the world..
