The problem with some people trying to identify what works really is, Is that they are looking beyond scripture. Still stuck on (C) . Carnal, which means worldly minded. Seeing, and thinking in the earthly realm, when they should be seeing and thinking inthe spiritual realm. The two are most definitely different as day and night. The two cannot compare with each other. JAMES;2; 21 Clears this up if you can understand it.21; Was not Abraham our Father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22; Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?; 23; And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, ABRAHAM believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God. 24; Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.?............. These scriptures refer to another scripture that says Be ye also doers of the word and not just hearers only. The works are believing, and obeying the word of God without question, and if you do, then your faith is made perfect.. Whatever the Scriptures say do, then you must do in order to please God. Whatever he has commanded you to do ,you do,and that is your works backed up by faith.

Jesus knew that better than any man, because he knew how weak the flesh was, which causes man to do their own will. That is why he said. " Not my will, but let your will be done"

2 Corinthians 12:9-11 New International Version (NIV)

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
