With every person you ask what being a Christian means to them you will receive a different answer from each and every one. Over the past several years it has become obvious to me that everyone looks at Christianity a different way. We may all have the same major perspective of it but, with each little piece of it we are likely to interpret it a different way then the person sitting next to us in our class, church, youth group, or even out friends. And that's expected because not everyone thinks alike. But in the end many Christians can all relate because that is what makes our religion. To me being a Christian means having someone there for me at all times. Anytime I have went through anything God has been right there with me. He is so much more then just a friend to me. God is my life. I owe him everything although he ask for nothing other then our love for him. There is many more things that I could write about and what being a Christian means to me but I wanna hear what you guys think it means to you. Just comment your opinion or message me . Thanks for reading.

I would say at least 90% of blogs get no response. And of those that do it's only a few that get many responses. If you are looking to engage a topic or conversation then posting a thread will get you more traffic than a blog.

Thank you for that info. I don't really mind if they see it.

What does it mean to be a Christian? I ask myself this a lot, and for that matter what does it mean to be strong as a Christian? A set of beliefs and a life of living faith is how many are described when the word Christian is spoken or some might say it's just another type of religion and others still might say it is to be holy and obedient in faith and in Christ.

But you know I have seen many go by the claim of being Christian and some of them are even more rude and even more self righteous than the pharisee's themselves, others who aren't even Christians have shown more fruits of the spirit than one who is saved. It seems to me that there is a fine line between a Christian by title and a Christian by heart.
anyone can go to church, anyone can pray and do good deeds anyone can even know the bible like the back of their hands and can recite the entire bible verse by verse but that isn't what makes a Christian is it?

The one thing I have seen in a true Christian is love. Not love as the human heart knows of but a kind of love that comes from his heart alone, it is a strange kind of love an abnormal kind it is alien because people are not used to seeing this kind of love. This kind of love is one that enriches the believers heart and soul it allows them to slowly yet surely see through his eye and slowly yet surely have their hearts form into his, it is the supernatural steroid in the believers growth and closeness to God and it is the one thing I have ever seen make a person truly stand out from the crowd of believers.

I have sought after this love exhaustively and in dong so he has given me much in return and yet I still cannot fully answer this question. I am always searching my heart and asking God what does it mean to be a Christian and what does it mean to be strong in you? I don't truly know the answer but I know that it is seeking after love and seeking after his heart with a burning fire in our eyes and a hunger and thirst that is abnormal that will show us the answer

I was a Christian two or three years when God taught me that being a Christian is all about the fruit of the Spirit:

"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23gentleness, self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23 NASB)

That is the very essence and soul of the Christian life. But instead so many of us get distracted into thinking our doctrine, or our gifts, or church attendance, or tithing, etc. are the epitome of what it means to be a true Christian.

Nothing wrong with those things. It's just that's it's a mistake to make those things some kind of measuring rod of our relationship to God. Ultimately, the obedience that stems from the fruit of the Spirit is the only thing that truly confirms one's secure place in Christ.
