"Hab. 3:1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth."

((This (the following) is going to be mournful or sorrowful. That's what Shigionoth means.))

"Hab. 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy."

((Habakkuk is crying out to God that he was always merciful and in the time of judgment, to remember and show his ...

Joshua's strategy for conquering the promised land was pretty simple. His orders to his men of war were to kill every man, woman, and child. Some of the cities that Joshua fought against were burnt and leveled to the ground. Others he left standing but all of the people in them were slaughtered (Joshua 6:21). This was Mose's commandment to the people (Deut. 20:16-18) and Joshua followed it faithfully.

The "candlestick" is the church (Rev. 1:20).
"All of gold" means holy or divine.

"Zech. 4:1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep."

There is a greater meaning here than waking someone up. Those who don't have knowledge of the LORD are described as living in darkness. They are also described as being asleep or slumbering.

To be "wakened out of his sleep," is to say, turn away from the darkness and learn of me.

"Prov. 6:9-11 How long wilt thou sleep, ...

"Zech. 3:9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day."

The stone laid before Joshua the high priest is a prophecy of Jesus Christ who is soon to come. The LORD has made him the head or high priest of the church.

"Is. 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation ...
