"Rev. 1:16-----and out of his (Jesus) mouth went a sharp two-edged sword."
"Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Which means absolutely nothing is hidden from our Lord.
The two-edged sword is the word of God. The two edges refer to the two covenants or the old and new testaments of the Bible. Jesus came to fulfill the first so he could establish the second.
"Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets (old testament) were until John: since that time (Jesus coming) the kingdom of God is preached (new testament or gospel) and every man presseth into it." Which means we're all going to be judged according to what's written there. "Presseth into it" is like trying on a suit and you hope it fits because your eternal life depends on it.
