And, doesn't it seem that sometimes when we strive to act on our great idea, or take advantage of these wonderful opportunities that one road block after another prevents us from realizing their fruition, and we seem to think, "Well, it's the old devil trying to discourage me, or prevent me."

Sometimes, it's true. For the devil loves to mess with us, to place obstacles in our path, to discourage us, and to try his best to shake our faith, our resolve.

But sometimes, sometimes it's God.

Why would God do such a thing? Well, see, we can not know the end result, the whole picture, the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey used to say. But God can. And sometimes, our great ideas, or wonderful opportunities are not in our best interest, and may well cause us harm in the long run. God can see this, God knows this, and, because He loves us so very much, He will protect us. Doing so by placing road blocks, obstacles in our path that prevent us from acting on our great ideas, or realizing the wonderful opportunity we sought to take advantage of.

To know this can happen, I suggest you read again the story of Balaam and his donkey, (read 22nd Chapter of Numbers) and the angel of God who stood in the roadway blocking their path.

God loves us, and He is faithful to protect us, even from ourselves if we are attentive to His warnings, and our hearts are open to His counsel and guidance. The obvious question is: "How do I know if it is the devil or if it is God?" I don't have a perfect answer, but I can speak of my own experiences, and for me, when such times present themselves in my life, that is when I call a "time out," and take the time to go to God in sincere prayer. Setting aside my desires, my ideas, my wishes, and seek His guidance for what His desire, His idea, and His wish for me is.

If it is the devil, I often find God will make a way, open a door, clear the path for me to accomplish/realize what it is He wanted for me. If it is God, then I find that He will stand firmly in the road way, protecting me from myself, and/or the danger I can not see that lies ahead.

By seeking His will, and not our will is how we learn the path we should choose, and realize all the blessings He so very much wants to impart unto us.

Nahum 1:7) The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

2 Corinthians 4:8)
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9
.) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

May God bless and keep you and yours
