Out of sorts, sort of.

I've been out of sorts recently. It's a busy time of year, and on top of the stress of trying to keep up with the workload thrust upon me, I also remember that every year about this time, my Father comes down with a bout of pneumonia that comes on rather suddenly. I'm somewhat waiting for the shoe to drop.

Also, I dislike this time of year as the media goes on a full-front assault trying to get me to care about 9/11...again. The manipulation is truly disgusting, and while I understand it is done to keep up public opinion for continued military presence in the world to combat "radical Islam", I also realize that without a constant state of war, the military-industrial complex of the US would seize up, and the US and likely global economy along with it.

Additionally, the longer I am a member here and the more I read the postings of the membership, the more I am perplexed as to why this website has the name it does. For instance, I often read the threads about certain topics, and I will follow along referencing the verses given as evidence to illustrate a particular position. However, when I read those verses, along with the ones preceding it and following after, I find about 70% of the time that the verse being used a evidence isn't even talking about the same topic the poster used it for. I am learning a lot though - I'm learning that CC is not the place to learn truth in Scripture.

Seeing as how I am unwilling to role-play like so many others are and do, I must once again say these things, not to be intentionally inflammatory or to try and point out the flaws of others, but to state that "what you see is what you get". All too often here people will put on a pretty good show of acting the part of the Christian when it serves them, but they are more than willing to drop the facade and let their real personality out for a viewing. All a person needs to do is challenge their position in a thread they hold an interest in, or otherwise fail to agree with them, and you too can see the transformation take place. I can only speak for myself though, but once I've seen this transformation in someone here, I can't ever un-see it, and that person's drivel might as well never be seen again.

I think I had more to say, but I need to get off my diff and get supper started...or I'll hear about it. Old men can be so whiny.
