We were sent an email from imoss. She wanted to post a message to you all admitting she was in the wrong and the ban is deserved.

Generally we don't make it policy to discuss bans, because many times the reasons for a ban can be personal in nature and it's just not good conduct to go spreading around someone's business like that.

But since imoss seems ok with discussing this. Here are the reasons she was banned. After the explanation of her ban, you will see her message to you.

The other day in the haley09 prayer thread two things were going on.

1. People were speculating on if Haley was real or fake. At that point we weren't sure. This speculating was creating lots of dramatics. So to control dramatics I requested that people quit speculating and instead message a moderator with their concern, and keep their speculations off the board.

2.imoss came on the board and pretty much made a public request for apologizes to those she felt wronged her. I requested that those who felt they had been wronged, I requested that they simply cc mail the ones they need to make amends to. Because these blanket requests for apologies just created higher tensions. So to stop that, I tried to create a way that would validate people's frustrations and be able to deal with them, but also would stop the spread of the drama.

After making these requests three times on the board, imoss continued to go at it on the board. She even said she didn't care if I was a moderator.

I gave her a five point infraction and requested she stop. In reply she sent me a cc email that didn't have to pleasant of a tone. Then she went back in the forums and went at it again!

So after three requests on the forums to stop and deal with it in a better way and after an infraction asking to stop, she continued at it.

She was given more than enough warning. More than enough red flags. More than enough stop signs.

No one was ever told their feelings didn't matter. No one was ever told their concerns didn't matter.

People were just requested to do it in such a way that the dramatics wouldn't continue to escalate.

I get that imoss has been a great influence on the board, but after three warnings in the forums, an infraction, which equals four total warnings, she still wouldn't stop. What was I supposed to do?

It's my job to try and make this a peaceful place. If people won't follow my requests, then I have to do something.

Honestly sometimes as a moderator, dealing with things seems like a no win situation.

If I step in and try to handle things then I'm bad for banning or interfering. But if I don't step in , then we get messages about how CC is just full of discord.

I could write an endless laundry list of no win situations us mods find ourselves in. Oh yeah and keep in mind we're not even paid to do this! Some spend hours a day dealing with other people's rubbish just so CC can be a nice place. All without pay!

Now I've spent half an hour of MY free time typing this out, mostly because people just wouldn't follow rules and let us mods be mods.

I spent a good three hours figuring out that haley mess, then even more time dealing with the fall out of people spreading the dramatics around after that mess was dealt with.


So in the future, I really do request people would take these things in to consideration before they go raising more ruckus over someone's ban. It tends to create even MORE work for us who are already working hard and for FREE, so you all can have a nice online community.

To my beautiful friends in cc. I just wanted you to know that my ban was deserved. after being told by stilly to stop I continued and further posted that I didnt care if he was a mod. This is in direct conflict with his authority on here and publically is unacceptable. Even privately its unacceptable. I was then given an infraction which sent me over the top because I truly love this place and valued my reputation and thought perhaps one day once my boys were both in full time school I'd be valued enough to be a mod. I understand that that was a pride filled goal & it causes me great shame & i'm so very sorry if this in any way tarnish's your view of Christian Chat.com as the mod was absolutely right to ban me. After I received the infraction I advised the mod to refer the whole thread to his superior and delete my infraction as it was unacceptable & I couldnt believe that the satanic attacks to this site were actually bearing fruit. I in no way meant to say that anyone other than outside sources were responsible for these attacks. I felt a conviction from the Holy Spirit in this thread & I'm so sorry that I was less than tactful especially to you Peter pan who was likely very hurt by this deception. I was just upset that the chat rooms had been filled with bashing me and links to this thread. Anyway, I wanted to say that in spite of not being a member I will continue to financially support this ministry as we've seen people from all over the world grow in faith herein. I do, however feel like I've lost my very best friends & I'm sorry I've caused that. Bless your hearts.

I hope this will give people some insight. This kind of thing happens all the time, and then we get flack, when people don't even know all the facts.

We ban blatant troublemakers -- that goes without saying.

But unfortunately we also have to ban good Christian people, sometimes. Why? Here's why. Because, for some reason, in a online Christian chat room and forum, some people don't respect the order that we have in place, in the same way that they would for anything in person (e.g., any organized Christian group or function). So what else can we do? I mean, for example, someone is getting on webcam without a shirt. He's a great Christian guy. But people complain that they're not interested in seeing his chest. So we ask him to please wear a shirt. Then he does it again another day. So we warn him again. Then he does it again another day! Well, okay he might be the most wonderful Christian guy you ever met, but don't blame us if he/she/whoever doesn't respect the simple order that we have in place here in the same way that they would any kind of in person Christian group/function/etc. This is just a random example. I could give many. Anyway.

What else can I say, except that when good Christian people refuse to respect the order that we have in place -- that we must have in place -- well, honestly it's not our fault.

Lastly, bans can be appealed, and we do undo bans, and have undone many bans. (Please just leave it at that.)

And let me also add that many people do learn and grow from being banned

Where is the love, where is the love, where is the love, teh luv, the loev...

Also, sometimes people use things like this as a means to go around whispering to others about a moderators past ban of them or of their friends.

The whisperer won't say all of the story because they either don't know it or they won't tell it because that would make the moderator look justified! Their motives are just to smear the mod or CC as a whole.

If you're ever approached by one of these 'whisperers', I'd ask that you'd give the benefit of the doubt to us mods who are giving of our free time to help this place run smoothly, and not give the benefit of the doubt to a whisper person who isn't capable or willing to give all the facts.

This may just be me, but I would never want to be a mod, even if it were paid!!!
