Refine the reputation system: allow individual users to totally disable it; also disallow negative reputation points; and then take another poll on whether or not the reputation comments should be anonymous.
Do away with the whole thing. No more reputation points, comments, etc. for anyone.
New Christian Chat features and anything we think you should know, announced right here.

Pure and real, Deep Worship. God is doing a new thing, New levels of Worship. Out of the fires of hardship will come many Sons, all individual expressions of their God. This album is the intimate expression I have with Him - Christian Worship.
Sigh *shakes his head*
I got a rep point without knowing how or why. How do you give someone a rep point?
Hi Blueberry...Did you get a rep point or rep power??
Rep power is given by the mods, (and/or is "earned" by how many posts you have posted---???---never truly understood why that is?) Rep power is seen by our nicks with our posts.
Rep points are given to you by others because of their opinions on your posts and can be seen in your contol panel. It will show a green or grey or red square beside a listed thread name in which you posted what they are giving (or taking) rep points to (or from) you for. A green square means they are positive points (added to your total). A red square means they are negative pioints (subtracted from your total) And I THINK a grey square means the person who wanted to rep you didn't have any earned or given rep power to give to you (or take from you)
There is also a "comment" area where the person can leave an encouraging word or a "high five" so to speak, beside the given points.....and identify themselves if they dare..Hahhaha JK!!! (kinda)
Hope this helps!
Oh! And your rep power is how many points you have that you can give or take from someone......and the way you do it is at the top of each person's posts there is a ""REP"" button you push and it is pretty easy to figure out from there!
You get rep points by posting alot and by getting it from other people. As you can tell, most of mine comes from posting too much. I don't pay much attention to it anymore.
hello, how do i find the instant chat rooms?
The main page of the forums there is a chat rooms button. Once you click on that, choose your options for webcam and sound...then click enter chat.
I find it plausible that bruised egos would arise from a rep system. Even that cesspool of electronic communication, Youtube, doesn't publish the ratings of comments about videos if they are not positive.
Grace your avatar is a word of encouragement when i needed it most up at 4 a.m. restless , life is hard right now . thanks
p.s its my new screensaver
Awwww, Bless you CMW! It is words of encouragement for me tooooo!! Prayers with you my friend. *hugs*
^ I want such a badge so I can pin it up to my shirt
I think it should be kept. It seems to me, as a new person to, CC, that there is so much going on in some chat rooms, in particular the Lounge, that does not represent Christianity as per the rules set forth from CC.. Perhaps this is a way to keep up with inappropriate behaviour. I don't know for certain if it will work...some people seem to be able to say whatever pleases them, using any language they choose, (profanity) without any consequences. My vote is to keep it.
Peace to the Middle East....yo. <3
"Then Peter began to speak: 'I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.'" Acts 10:34-35
Why do we need a reputation system? What service does it supply? How does it build up the body of Christ? In what ways does it encourage you when you see someone with lots of 'rep' points? If you have 'rep' points, does this make you acutely aware of how you post and how does it influence that? What worth do you see in 'rep' points apart from the obvious? How does it make those who have no 'rep' points feel about their posts? What about those who post all the time and no-one ever gives them 'rep' points? Would God use a rep system if he ran CC? Would it be important to him that we distinguish certain individuals? What difference would it make to individuals if the reputation system didn't exist? Do we really think it would matter? What eternal difference would it make?
Just some questions to ponder...
Well, it's not really about eternal difference I don't think...and it's not about one person thinking they're better than the other. It's about fellowship with one another. God wants us to fellowship with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Besides, the reputation system probably helps out Robo a little bit.

Hope is what we crave,
And that will never change
So I stand and wait
I need a drop of grace
To carry me today,
A simple song to say
It's written on my soul:
Hope's what we crave
~ For King & Country - "Hope is What We Crave"
