We don't generally make a public post about bans, but this case kind of warrants it. TY has been public on Facebook about his ban, and some are making judgments about the decision, and reaching negative conclusions about the site because of the decision.

I banned him because he brought his real life drama in to chat, then bothered someone in PM, within chat, by initiating the harassing PM with someone who was minding their own business in chat.

This person was minding their own business in chat, yet TY took it upon himself to initiate a PM in chat with said person where he:

1. Judged her by calling her ungodly.
2. Seemed to insinuate she was involved in some sexual sin.
3. Bothered her after being asked by her to leave her alone.
4. Accused her of something based on hearsay.
5. Accuses her of starting drama, when it was HIM who started the drama by initiating the PM.
6. Insults her by calling her a jerk.

Here are the transcripts to back up the charges above.

Ty may say she's the one causing drama and he's just defending himself. That really isn't relevant. Chat isn't the place to settle your real life feuds with people. Us moderators aren't here to solve your real life problems. We have enough to deal with, with onsite drama. We don't need to wade through their personal stuff too, in most circumstances.

Ty may say I banned him without knowing the full story of their real life drama. Again that's not relevant. I'm here to deal with issues within chat. The issue within chat is that he initiated contact and did the above things in chat! I don't need to know the other side of his real life drama, to know that he initiated said PM with Awesomekid and harassed, judged and insulted her within chat. Even if I did know the other side of the story to this real life drama, it wouldn't justify what he brought in to chat and did to someone who was minding their own business in a chat room.

Bottom line, this girl was minding her own business in chat. Ty initiated contact with her. Stirred up drama. He kept it up and that's why he's banned.

This thread is closed because I really don't have the time to go endlessly back and forth with people over a ban. This is why we don't make a habit of publishing MOST bans in the first place. Mods don't have the time to sit around explaining and debating it all day!

Some may say I'm not giving the whole context of the PM here and I'm just using snippets. This doesn't negate the fact that TY initiated said PM! It doesn't negate the fact the he brought said drama in to chat and initiated with said chatter. It doesn't negate the fact that he said what he said.

None of the above would have occurred if he had decided NOT to drag his real life drama in to chat and bother someone who was simply minding their own business.
