Okay now there are three enhancements to the private chat window:

1. it now shows the age, gender, marital status, and location of the person

(so no one can say "oops I didn't know she was married!!!" or a 30-year-old guy can't say "oh I didn't know she was only 15!" haha.. anyway it's just good to be able to have some idea of the age and marital status of the person you're talking to, you know?)

2. it also shows the country flag of the person. Please note that the country flag is not according to location, but rather nationality (or whatever the person has selected for "Nationality/Flag" in their profile info

3. a Private Chat Notice -- in big red print. This is my favorite. I use this as my own "Do Not Disturb" sign, because I'm usually working when I'm logged in and too many people try to private chat with me about too many different things. Anyway, you can use it for whatever you like (e.g., "please DO disturb", "no men please", etc.). You can set (and change) your own private chat notice anytime in the Control Panel, but it's kinda buried, so I put a direct link for you under "Useful Links" when you first log into the forum -- so just use that link there ("Private Chat Notice") whenever you need it. Or click here.

Oh and I forgot one thing: an "Ignore" button. Actually there has always been an ignore feature, but it was just a little blue circle button (with an exclamation point), and many people didn't know that it was an ignore button. So I simply replaced it with a text-labeled button.

So anyway if you are getting unwanted private chat messages, you can simply click the Ignore button. Then you won't see any more private chat messages from that person (during that chat session). (It only blocks private chat messages, not messages in the main chat.)

Of course if you ever receive any inappropriate private message, you should report it to a moderator.

I just noticed this new feature and it's such a great idea, Robo. I am still trying to get the hang of everything here but this is a great feature, as I usually enjoy Private Chats but it gets hectic when three people try to talk to me exclusively at once... Thanks for all the added enhancements (I never knew what the blue button was for, either.) We appreciate the extra work and effort.

I don't think so, Leeshie... you can see the list in the Edit Profile page in the Control Panel... the Nationality/Flag part.

Haha i like these features Robo they sure do help quite a ton with identifying the chatters. Its also good to have that feature to let people know if you desire private chat. I like the red lettering. Too bad anyone seldom looks at the huge DO NO PM UNLESS AN EMERGENCY that ive posted. haha. but i guess its something theylll get quicky use to. God bless.

While that may be a nice thought, it would kind of interfere with the people talking, or even singing on the mic like in the Yousing room.
