Is it possible to add Cyrillic support in this room or in the chat?

Привет как дела. <---------- That is Cyrillic. Basically Russian alphabet. The forum supports it why not chat?

Eugene we aren't going to have a chatroom where you can sit around playing reggae, and drinking vodka.

Especially not all in cyrillic.

Actually eugenius, my plan is to eventually also add a Chinese room and also a Russian room! So, I didn't realize about the character set or whatever. I'll have to check into that.

Anyway are we ready for a Russian room? Will it actually be used? I'd love to see it used -- not just text but also voice and video -- by Russian Christians and those from Russia who are seeking.

Surprisingly there are many Russians at this forum and many Ukrainians. I was both surprised and glad when I saw it. I would definitely use it. But the Russians I have talked to in the chat we had to write in Russian using English/Latin characters and its hard to understand each other that way.

Okay Eugenius I'm checking into modifying the chat app to support Cyrillic. Then, if I'm able to do that, maybe we'll also go ahead and add a Russian room. Give me some time, and feel free to check back with me.

Hi Everyone,

I think it's a wonderful idea to offer others who feel more at ease communicating in their language the opportunity to do so. It's good to know this is in the works.

I agree with CB. I rarely find anyone in that room. When I saw a few people, they were:
  1. either (English speaking) couples that wanted to talk on voice in a quiet room;
  2. or non-native speakers that were speaking... their own languages.
There would need to be more natives willing to help non-natives to practice English, otherwise the room is not very useful. You might as well go into a more crowded room and talk to everybody else.

I don't know what all alphabets are in the system for the chat rooms, but instead of just adding individual alphabets here and there, you could use unicode. It would be very helpful in the non-native english room as well.

Like I said...I'm not sure how you have the text system set up, but unicode is a wonderful help if you aren't using it.

I think that it is a good Idea because there are a lot of people who need to speak a native English, so now this can be the opportunity that a lo of people need for their English. Thanks Roboop I know that this idea was a long time ago. but this is the perfect time to do it

God bless you so mcuh.

I guess we all agree the idea is a good one, the only problem is the room is still very underused...
