ON CURSES

‘What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?’ – Ezekiel 18 vs 2

Hello Dearly Beloved, just another interesting topic I bring to you this moment, in this teaching, we will be having ‘Curses’ in view, can a Christian (One who has believed in Jesus Christ) be under a generational or ancestral curse? Can one having become a Christian be cursed? In this teaching, we will see what the answers to these FAQ are. God Bless You.

From the reading of our opening scripture, we see a profound question asked by God there, God asked a question, He said, Why do the people go about saying that the children’s teeth are hurting because the father’s ate sour grapes? By that statement, God was insinuating that it ought not to be so, inasmuch as the father’s were the one that partook of the sour grape, their teeth should be the ones hurting and not the teeth of the innocent children who ate no grape. You see that? Verse 4 clarifies it;

‘Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die’ – {KJV}

You see that? God gave this decree, and you know what? God’s word doesn’t change, if He said it, it is so; God doesn’t lie, if He said it, it is as He has said. – Selah

If this be so, then child of God, where cometh this doctrine or teaching whereby they say as Christian, you have to break out from your father’s ancestral foundation or you have to breaak out from the generational curse running in your family (earthly) line? If my fore-fathers sware an oath and did some sacrifices, and made some vows to demons, they are the once that did it, they leaked the sour grape, why then should my mouth be hurting for a sour grape I didn’t leak? – Selah . That’s what God is saying to you today!

You see that?

When you see a Christian praying prayers deliverance from some ancestral curse or some generational curses, then you are seeing a Christian whose ignorance has gone on rampage! Let me show you something;

‘Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!’ – 2 Corinthians 5 vs 17 {AMPLIFIED BIBLE}

Did you see that? It says, the old spiritual condition has passed. Waow! The old spiritual condition speaks of the former state of the man’s spirit, if that spirit was under a curse, conditioned to be destroyed, in bondage of generational or ancestral curse, it says that old state, that old condition is passed away, and the spiritual condition has become fresh, new in Christ. Waow! Jesus did it all for us on the Cross. Can you believe this? – Selah

No Christian is under a Generational or House-Hold Curse!

Now let’s look at something different, let’s look at the case of a Christian who someone has just placed a curse on, will that curse come to pass against him? Let’s see;

‘And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.’ – Numbers 22 vs 12 {KJV}

This is the story of the Children of Israel when they came out of Egypt, the king Balak asked the Prophet Balaam to curse the children of Israel so He could prevail over them in a fight and drive them out of the land where they were, but this was what the Lord said unto the Prophet Balaam, that he shall not curse the people, why? Because He had blessed them. Just hold on, you’d soon get the point. Now, at a point in that history, the Prophet went ahead to begin to curse the people, but as he opened his mouth to curse the people, let’s see what happened;

‘And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.’ – Numbers 23 vs 11 {KJV}

You see that? As the Prophet Balaam opened his mouth, Blessings came out instead of curses. He said in the verse 8, How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? You see? Why couldn’t the people be cursed? Because God had put His Blessing upon them, and hence it was impossible for any curse to hang upon their lives. – Selah

Now I want you to understand that there is something about when a man is Blessed by God, it’s such a repellant against curses and spells.

Let’s look at the Story of Adam and his wife in the Garden;

‘And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life…’ – Genesis 3 vs 17 {KJV}

This was God demonstrating HIS wrath over the disobedience of man, and here was His word to man, cursed is the ground for thy sake. Notice that, He didn’t curse man unlike He did to the serpent and to the woman, because He had Blessed him already when He made him {Genesis 1 vs 28}, but He cursed the ground for man’s sake so that man could still feel His wrath. – Selah. Now, if see that Genesis 1 vs 28, it says, And God blessed them; that doesn’t plural as in Adam and his wife Eve, no; that was a singular statement. The Verse 27 says, ‘So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.’ With this, many people have thought that the Blessing was targeted to two persons, but HE was speaking concerning man alone and not the woman included. In Chapter 2 verse 21 – 22, we can clearly see when the woman came into existence out of the man after that God had created man and Blessed him. So we see that that Blessing in Chapter 1 vs 28 was to the Man specifically and not to the woman, and that was why God could put no direct curse on him as He did to the serpent and the woman. – Selah

Beloved, we need to understand this, we need an understanding of these things so as to be confident in this wicked world.

Let’s see another story in the Bible that gives explanation to the topic with clarity;

‘And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.’ – Genesis 9 vs 20 – 25 {KING JAMES VERSION}

The above is the story of Ham, how that he looked upon and saw his father’s (Noah) nakedness. Now, we have read the story above, and notice what the Prophet Noah his dad did, he didn’t curse Ham who committed the crime, but he cursed Ham’s son named Canaan. Waow! You know why he didn’t and could not curse Ham? Because God had blessed Ham already. Let’s see it;

‘And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.’ – Genesis 9 vs 1 {KJV}

You notice that? God didn’t only bless Noah, but his sons also which included Ham. So you see, Noah was a Prophet who understood the ways of God because he walked with God, so he knew it was impossible for what God had blessed to be cursed, so he cursed Canaan, the son of Ham who had not incurred any Blessing from God. – Selah

Child of God, do you know that you are Blessed? Do you know that in Christ Jesus we have been endowed with Blessings which makes it impossible for curses to work on us? Do you realize what we read above in Numbers 22 vs 12 how that God said to the Prophet Balaam that he shall not curse the people for they are blessed? That tells us that what God has Blessed cannot be cursed. Just incase you didn’t know that in Christ Jesus you have received a Blessing (Blessings), let me show you;

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ…’ – Ephesians 1 vs 3 {KJV}

Waow! God who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings? Hahahaha that’s powerful, interesting, and good to know. What a feeling to know that we are Blessed by the Father and hence no one can put a curse on us, not even God’s anointed or His Prophets can do that. Waow! Glory to God forever. Little wonder the LORD Jesus asked us not to worry about those that curses us, but to Bless them because their words can have no effect on who God has Blessed; and you know what? We are the Blessed of the Lord, the Blessed of God. O Glory to God forever. I’m stirred, don’t know about you.

Dearly Beloved, having realized this, be joyful and exceeding glad, you are in Christ Jesus, and hence, you are no more under any ancestral or generational curse, your old spiritual condition is passed away, you are free, glory to God; and a curse cannot be put on you anymore because you have been Blessed by God with all spiritual Blessings in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

God Bless You.

In spiritual terms i agree, but in worldly terms..... if one generation for example, destroys the environment, the next generation will suffer the consequences of that sin, which they did not commit.

Yea, i did that too.

perhaps a better way of making a post like this is to summarize in the first post, get people engaged then feed in the rest one section at a time in between peoples replies.
