Here Begins the Vision of Saint Paul the Apostle."But I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: I know a man in Christ fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I know not; or out of the body, I know not, God knoweth) snatched up in this manner to the third heaven: and I know such a man, whether in the body or out of the body I know not, God knoweth; how that he was snatched up into Paradise and heard secret words which it is not lawful for men to speak; on behalf of such a one will I glory; but on mine own behalf I will not glory, save in my infirmities."-2 Corinthians 12:1-5

I personally do believe that there are some who have definitely experienced "out of body" visions of heaven, but I do know that only God truly knows who has & who has not...

I guys,

This is an interesting subject. I´ve been seeing many testimonies of heaven, angels and hell. These testimonies include both NDE and visions. Personally, I´m interested about this subject, but I´m not sure if I believe in all of them. There are several cases where these people say the came back because it was His will to let all know about Heaven and Hell. Those that say that went to hell and saw Satan there, I do not believe, because he´s not here, he´s here, on Earth.

But 2 Corinthians 12:1-5 makes me think about this may not be true. However, I do believe that after we die, our spirit goes back to God, our body disappears but our soul goes to Heaven or hell.

I have read a couple hundred of these NDE's. They can't all be making it up. I mean there are thousands recorded all over the world, which has profound similarities. Even though the few might not be authenticated or were false does not mean all of it is. I think (just my opinion) that Paul in his many persecutions and beatings to death and left for death might have caused him to have a NDE. He says some profounf things that's in unity with many other NDE's today. Why did Paul say to live is Christ and to die is gain... We he said that he knew he needed to stay for the sake of the church then, but he desires to rather be with Christ. Well if he was going to die and 'sleep' until judgement day why did he want to die and be with Christ, which he knew he would be because he may have experienced life after death already. Why does he say we don't know in full now, but will when the time comes. It almost sounds like he knows theres more, how can you just know it if God didn't somehow reveal to him this. I believe our only limitation to experience eternity and to be with Christ is our physical body. As soon as it decays then you're there in eternity. Remember in eterrity ther is no time, so everything happens at the same time in perfect order as Christ masters it. I can't wait to die and be with Christ but I know we all have a purpose to fulful to ultimately fulfil His greater purpose, everyone on this eart is put in a persons life not by conicidence but in perfect purpose. People need God ultimately but also one another, so you can't just go and be with Christ. Theres is reasons for your time-stay on earth.

Life on Earth is nothing more than a journey we all take. Each person may be in a different place in his/her journey, have different experiences along his/her journey, but the journey ends the same for each. Each person has to decide who and what to believe, how to believe, what's right for his/her own life, along the way. We can all agree or disagree on certain things, but that doesn't make one right and the other wrong....it simply makes us all in different places in our lives.

Do I believe in near death experiences? Why not?.....the OP didn't ask if one believes that someone can be raised from the dead, just if it's possible that someone CLOSE to death, could see a vision of heaven or hell that would be enough to make that person believe. Are they all true? Probably not, but I don't know, nor do I need to know. Did they really see heaven or hell? I can't say, but whatever they saw was enough to make them believe in it, so who cares if it was a "real" vision or not? Well I don't care anyways. If God can use awful, sinful people, like me, to bring about His glory, why not use a vision or two of what heaven or hell might look like?
Peace!!

Are you talking near death, or being pronounced dead for like hours and then coming back? Since I don't know I'll go with the second scenario. From what I've studied and concluded, if you have such an experience, that is not a good sign. Saved Christians go to paradise right away, remember what Stephen saw as he died from being stoned? But the unsaved will see decay- that means they see and feel their body rot before their soul leaves their body, as long as their body stays in tact. Seeing the future is like having a memory that hasn't happened yet.

Such as Joseph's prison mate, to whom he interpreted the dream that he would die and birds would pick his flesh and peck him in the eyes. Think I'm off my rocker? In the bible humans did correctly tell the future- either by the power of God or by satan. Remember the lady that followed Paul around until he had the demon who was doing it leave her? Remember the scripture where God said of Jesus that He would not let His holy one SEE decay? I believe the saved will not see decay as well, because we joined Jesus in His death, and will in His resurrection. Remember the thief on the cross did not see decay- he went to paradise that same day.

I heard it discussed once about how the experience of dying has changed so much with drugs and things nowadays, but in times past there used to be many people close to death that would exclaim of seeing visions or having Jesus come to claim them-- what a beautiful gift for their family/friends who've been website them on such a painful journey. Maybe they are just hallucinating, or maybe there's nothing to it. But I believe there definitely could be. I also believe ppl could say it happened for the attention or profit.

I saw many testimonies. There was one I was sure that something wouldn´t be right: a man saying that had a NDE and that went to hell and saw Satan. Well, this can´t be right, because as we know he´s not there.

But apart from that, many are encouraging I must say, but, are they real? Some seem very authentic, but personally, I not sure what to think.

After that experience he "died", he became a believer and is serving God the other side of America.
He seems to be somewhat pentecostal.

The moment you had your own experience you won´t be a doubter... I myself spoked to a young boy, less than 10 years, who had such an experience and, the way he is, is not drawing attention to himself (his testimony is not egocentric), he is shy enough to avoid being popular or "important" or "that special" so I see where God is leading ppl: To His Son.

Dear brother, I must say that seeing those testimonies gave me comfort. However, I´m not sure it´s wrong, because of 2 Corinthians 12:1-5.

Yesterday I recorded an AMR file (in Spanish) where a mother saw his son, after he died (2 months ago). His granddad is getting stronger in the Christian faith (sadly under the Catholism). That mother who saw her own son is starting to believe another way she never believed: She was blaming God for having taken her son on 9 years of age. His dad almost cursed God for having taking his son (away) and his dad saw his son on a couple of dreams (not vividly like his wife has seen her son).

I know many ppl will interpret this things as demonic, as lies, etc. but, for me, I´m starting to believe God is calling more unbelievers in an old way He has being speaking in the past, because the Lord´s day is getting near. That way He is speaking is the same He said he would do:

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joe 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Joe 2:30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD shall come.
Joe 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Hch 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Hch 2:18 And on my servants, and on my hand-maidens I will, in those days, pour out of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Hch 2:19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.

Moito Obrigado!

I´m not sure if that what addressed to me but, if it was, I´m not saved yet.

The moment I see I´m not breathing here, I could be saved.

It was not but thank that you share the temporary condition of yours :)
Anyway it was my trial to do a bit ironical note about the claims of the protestants they are saved. I do not know what is your case and would not ask! I believe that the salvation is a gift which God gave us... the problem is what we are doing with it after receiving it ...so I would not claim I am save - I only hope I am but also I must be very careful me to do the right thing every day and every minute and to hope I will continue on that way till the end of my earth`s life
So what death is that pages about? Of human body? Or that one which no one of us want to see?
