Personally I am a tomboy so my opinion is biased, but I was wondering for those who have/are thinking of having children have an opinion on kids wearing "older" clothes at too young an age. Obviously I am thinking mostly of girls and wearing things like mini skirts, shorter shorts, tighter clothes, make-up, ect.

Like I said, I am a huge tomboy so I think that a kid should stay a kid as long as they need to. But I see things on instagram like 10 year old girls with gobs of make-up on and booty shorts for "dance class." My reaction is, nonononononoooooothanks.

What about you guys?

I think I'd let my daughter wear older clothes when she was 85, and then hope she doesn't want to wear older clothes, because, well, you know, 100 year old clothes are likely to be dry rotted.

More seriously, (but not by much), I like my parents approach to parenting, "Not while you're under my roof." It worked wonders in motivating us to get out on our own. lol

I think it is ok so long as the parents understand the difference between teaching daughters how to look feminine, which is fine, and looking sexy which is not so good! There is a large grey area in between, but i think for the most part, most parents find the good balance, those that do not, that is far less 'grey' because they really stand out as having made that misjudgement.
