My wife and I have been married almost 8years, we are in our 50's and this is not our first marriage.
We where sexually active prior to marriage , just being honest. I had a few secrets I never shared with her and as our marriage began to unfold, the secrets came out as they always do. This, as well as the normal elapse of time afforded our lives in the bedroom to become nearly non existent and when we where involved it was a chore for her and just not what I wanted to for the rest of my life.
How do we turn this around?

A good Christian marriage counselor or pastor would be the first step.

But more important having a relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of any marriage. You say nothing about your spiritual state, so do you put God first? Does your wife? Do you pray together? Go to church together?

If you cannot answer the above questions in the affirmative, you could start working on it today. God, through the Holy Spirit can work wonderful things in a marriage.

Praying for you both to find God, and for him to set your marriage straight.

Something that really helped us was coming to the realization that every time we get naked with our spouse it is a picture of surrender and vulnerability. Not only that but each time it is a renewal of the marriage vow. Staying connected outside the bedroom and being vulnerable there will be mirrored by what happens in the bedroom. Sex is a spiritual experience and I think God meant it that way. Just my 2 cents.
