I was public schooled....i fell through many cracks academically as well as had numerous other issues. Began praying about the education early when i was pregnant with my first and felt called to homeschool. I have three in college and thriving. My children are always ahead, which i credit to the one on one attention to conquer problems.
Ive enjoy the opportunity to practice this freedom and i don't question the educational decisions of others, because there are many variables that go along with this decision

I was raised in a public school, but I also grew up in a small town of about 1200 people and it was a few years ago. Schools have changed so much since I have been in school and because of that change I would rather home-school my future children whenever that may happen. The reason being is that I don't want them to pick up the worldly attitudes and behavior that other parents raise their children with and by home-school we can talk and teach them Godly principles and correlate it to the curriculum and of course teach them the value of saying the pledge of Allegiance that its about respecting the men and women who have sacrificed of themselves to give us the freedom we do have. I also think families in general do not value family time and would rather give their kids a cell phone and let them hang out with their friends than to spend quality time with one another.

It's MY responsibility to educate my children! Schools, whether public, private, christian or whatever, are only ONE TOOL used to accomplish this goal. If I have an issue with what's being taught, it's my responsibility to fix it, usually by talking to the specific teacher and figuring out what's wrong, and then going from there. If a school is doing something I feel is damaging to my child, then again, it's my responsibility to repair. And if a teacher isn't teaching everything I feel needs taught on a particular topic, it's MY RESPONSIBILITY to teach them more, even if this means I have to actually....dare I say it.....learn something new myself in the process.
Notice the trend here? MY RESPONSIBILITY......And I took that responsibility very seriously.

Everyone else has to choose their own path here.
Peace!!
