One thing I know, by experience...

My eyes got me in troubles, more than once.

These eyes I love are a made-believe...

The Gestalt Effect | Regents English 10

Those that really loved me, those who had shown pure love, were ignored when I set my eyes in the wrong place...

I know there are ladies who also had believed their eyes (they´re NOT blind)

But, I´m assured we men believe our eyes and, if I had found a woman who was blind (literally) I would have loved to serve her, by these two reasons:

1) I would love to be her sight.

2) Beside one single person I was, I needed nothing else to see.

But all gender are dealing with their fights.

Secularhermit... Those pictures! Yikes!!! My eyes.... my eyes :(

A poll conducted by "one of the world's most visited Christian websites" indicates a surprising number of Christians are getting addicted to pornography.

"The poll results indicate that 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography.

The group defines "addicted" as applied to pornography as use on an ongoing basis.

"We are seeing an escalation to the problem in both men and women who regularly attend church," said Bill Cooper, President of ChristiaNet.com.

"No one is immunized against the vice-grip clutches of sexual addictive behaviors," reads a release issued by the site. "The people who struggle with the repeated pursuit of sexual gratification include church members, deacons, staff, and yes, even clergy."

How many Christians (especially) men can honestly say, "whenever I am tempted to lust, I NEVER give in." I have 100% conquered that sin. No problem?

If David, who was “a man after God’s own heart,” and many other strong men and women of faith yielded to sexual temptation, it could happen to any of us. Pornography may be the new addiction of this new century. Researchers are finding that when people indulge in porn, they release powerful chemicals in their brain and body. Mark Kastleman, author of The Drug of the New Millennium, said, "There are a growing number of therapists and psychologists who are saying that this is as addictive as cocaine," or alcohol, or even heroin. He explained that, when people view porn, "It causes the brain to release what we call endogenous drugs or endogenous chemicals. 'Endogenous' meaning 'produced from within.' So where cocaine or alcohol seek to mimic the brain's natural chemicals, pornography releases the real deal. And so we have things like adrenaline, epinephrine, ACTH."

Due to our fallen nature, we will have to deal with the temptation to lust until we die. The temptation to lust will come in many forms including ungodly sexual appetites; and there are lusts, such as the lust of power, fame or position. We must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit inside us to overcome lust every day. No matter the form of lust we face, we can be assured that we have a High Priest and Advocate with the Father who "understands every weakness of ours" and "was tempted in every way that we are. But He did not sin" (Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 2:1). 1 Corinthians 6:18 says to flee sexual immorality! I can tell you that the first step in giving up porn addiction is that you have to REALLY WANT TO GIVE IT UP. Pour your heart out to Jesus and ask Him for the power to give it up. You can't simply suppress this sin in your own strength and give it up solely in your own power.

Thank you, sir!

Each time I´ve read ppl´s "reasons" to be divorced or being left abandoned... I know that is also true.

We need password protected forums for freedom to talk about issues such as this. In the forum description it can say ask Bob (for example) for the password.

Au contraire. This is one of the most important subjects that needs to be brought to the light of day. The only female that probably does not need to see some of this is the wife of a man dealing with it.... and that is only at the beginning stages.. Other than at that time, she, also (or especially) needs to be brought right into this. She is our partner in life and our sister in Christ.

Good!

I have heard there was something like "Ladies room"... Yes!

I´m glad that place exists (counterbalancing the average isolation "sinners" could be cast by SINNERS)

Just out of curiosity, why should a wife dealing with this not see some of this? Or... at least in the beginning stages? Can't educating yourself only help the situation? Not sure I understood correctly, Willie-T.

In the beginning, it is a direct competition and comparison between a startling porn star and the wife. I have found that it is usually too much for most women to handle all at once. And to gamble on which one MIGHT handle it well, and which ones would be crushed is not worth risking.

Oh goodness, I wouldn't take it personally at all.. but thanks for explaining it! Women can have a lot of self-esteem issues anyway. I think the fear isn't that, "She's better than me," but more like, "He doesn't find me attractive any more, if he's doing that." I get it. Thanks!

I'm glad. Because most wives have a hard time when they first see that their husband really IS having a mental affair with the porn girl (even if it is different girls each time). He's not doing this just to "get off".. It's far deeper. That woman (or women) idolizes him in ways no real woman can ever do, day-in-and-day-out. And it is just best to wait till your involvement centers around helping him stay strong because you know he finally understands it is you that he loves.

I guess it depends on the kind of porn addiction, Willie-T... seems like there are definitely guys who just watch random porn in which they are non-interactive with the videoes or images, and they -are- just doing it to "get off." This can always be a huge problem, and I've known guys (and ladies) who have done this compulsively, multiple times a day (and when they get stressed out in life, they tend to do it more). At that point, they're probably in a compulsive cycle in their brain which desperately needs to be broken. As far as having a mental affair, that's a different matter completely, and yeah, takes it to a whole different level. Not good, either way.

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the tricks of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Romans 7 -
Paul illustrates for us a man who has absolutely no self-control when he writes, "The thing I want to do, that's the thing I can't make myself do. And the thing I don't want to do, that's what I find myself doing. I'm a slave to sin. I know by law that it's sin. But it's not I myself committing it, but sin living in me. It's a hopeless battle! Even though I want to serve God, sin in my flesh is making me its prisoner. I'm wretched! Who can save me from this body of death?"

Paul calls his outward, carnal man a body of death. If you're depending on your own efforts, good luck. Your flesh of itself has no power to obey God. In fact, the flesh is God’s enemy because it’s impossible to receive anything from God. Are you getting that?? (Romans 8:7) Nobody can judge you or condemn you because not one of us is good in our carnal man. Nope, not one!

Who can save us from this body of death? Paul tells us -

"I thank God, through Jesus Christ OUR Lord...."

Here's the answer -

"So then WITH THE MIND I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

So then with your mind? NO! With the mind of Christ! Remember the whole armor of God we're instructed to put on? It's Jesus Christ, He is our whole armor. We accept His mind, His thoughts on a matter as Truth, not our own carnal intellect. It's not worldly wisdom. It's not power of positive thinking. It's believing who Jesus is, what He has done on the Cross and who He says you are in Him. And only when we come to the end of ourselves and our trying to be good will we see WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN SET FREE BY JESUS!

It is the miracle of the grace of Jesus Christ. Though we’re attacked on every side, we are not defeated. Jesus has won the battle for us. Your flesh lost the battle. But with the mind of the spirit of Jesus Christ you have victory in Him.

Like Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery, “I don’t condemn you. Now go and live believing you’re not condemned by Me and you won’t be focused on your sinful flesh anymore.”
