I fear I have denied Christ because I lied about what the ring I wear truly means. I wear a ring on my wedding finger because to me it means that I am first married to Jesus. No other man can have my heart until they truly know the lord themselves. Anyway a girl I am friends with asked me what the ring I was wearing was because I assume she thought it was an engagement from my boyfriend. So I silent for a second before I answered and told her it was a purity ring. I was scared she would make fun of me for saying it was a ring that meant that I was first married to Jesus. Does this mean I have denied him for lying and being afraid to speak his name. I am very scared I have lost my salvation. I have repented so many times so now do I need to be baptized again? Have I backslide on the Lord?

We've all denied Christ at some point and time but fear not. You see, you didn't initiate your salvation, Jesus did. And He who began a good work in you will complete it until the Day of Christ (phil 1:6)
When we miss the mark we should ask our Lord to give us strength ,guidance, and wisdom to walk in a manner worthy of our calling.

The ring symbolized something personal to you, so not expressing your feelings about it to someone who might make light of it was not denying the Lord. When Pilate asked Jesus; "What is truth?", Jesus didn't answer because Pilate would not have understood. Sometimes our answers are adjusted towards people who wouldn't understand our commitment, we all need to discern how much to reveal to whomever we're talking to, especially if they are nonbelievers. If you suspect someones response would be to ridicule you, then you don't throw your pearls before the swine. All you did is avoid being mocked by someone who might think the reason for the ring was silly.

No, you don't need to be baptized again. Also remember, Peter denied Christ 3 times and didn't lose his salvation.

Actually, I believe that you answered truthfully. In essence, it is a purity ring, and only that as you are not really married to Jesus even though your heart belongs to Him. Relax. You certainly have not lost your salvation. The anxiety you feel about the situation is unfounded. Jesus still loves you and He still lives inside of your heart.

Jesus says in the Bible he will never leave or forsake us. You cannot lose your salvation for a sin or a lie. Turning back to God, confessing your sins means that we belong to Jesus forever.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

My thought is you need to read the Bible more! These truths are all found in the Bible. You should get a modern translation that you can understand, and start with the New Testament, then Genesis and the Psalms. After that, you can work on the rest of the Old Testament.

Peter denied Christ three times. Jesus even called him satan once....then Jesus built His church on Peters profession of faith in Him. Profess your faith in Jesus...when you prove to be incapable of being faithful.....repent...Jesus will lovingly rebuke you and then affirm His love and acceptance of you.

You fumbled with your answer, but it doesn't sound as though you explicitly denied him. Give yourself a little more grace. :)

Well the married to Jesus thing is quite like the Roman Catholic teaching for the nuns. They consider themselves married to the church and make themselves unavailable for marriage to men.

The purity concept is real good and I hope that this experience will encourage you to witness for the Lord next time you are asked about the ring. As Christians we have a responsibility to be pure for the testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Tell your friends about what Jesus has done for you and what He will do for them if only they will trust Him.

For the cause of Christ
