God hates divorce, definitely so, BUT often times he uses it to bring something better into those people's lives. :) I'm pretty sure He makes allowance for physical violence as a reason for divorce, also. God would NOT want a child of his to stay in an abusive relationship. JMO

I agree!..there seems to be a difference if they are believers or not....of course that's not to say a believer can act up..as we know they can and do...but 1 Cor 7:10-11 tells us what to do in that case..

It makes sense to me that God would make more allowance for divorce, than just adultery. I think physical and/ or sexual abuse or violence is a valid reason, as would be if one parent is molesting their children. What person in their right mind would stay in that situation, knowing God wouldn't want them in that toxic relationship?

This is a good website for people to check out about divorce and the many testimonies where God turned things around. I don't agree with all their theology but I certainly agree with their faith in the greatness of our Lord and that He is always faithful to us in all things!

In the days of Moses, God actually commanded the Israelites to divorce their husbands and wives. Not because of abuse, but because they didn't understand why it was they were married. They didn't genuinely love each other, they didn't give themselves to each other, and they weren't making God a part of their relationship

Thank God we are in the New Covenant now and we have the Holy Spirit inside of us to guide us in all our affairs.
