Yes
and I think that the only one that can morally take a life is God, no matter the "justification".

HOWEVER: In the discussion of resuscitation / terminally ill people etc, I think that society sometimes goes too far to "save" a life (i.e. if someone is kept "alive" only by being constantly connected to machines), if this happens year after year I find it is "play God" just as much as taking lives is.

Human life but of coarse, spirit life can be debated as one post mentioned only God knows.

I say if God knows a little one is being knitted in the womb you best leave the little guy alone and nurture him. Because if it matters to God it matters period. No matter what stage the wee one is at.

At 6 weeks the baby's heart is pumping. Life is in the blood.

Sort of true. Human life begins when a man and a woman come together. Followed by the sperm penetrating and fertilizing the egg. It's at this point that half the people think it's no different than the mother carrying it, and the other half that say it's still in the developmental phase so it's not regarded the same (which is biblical according to Exodus).

Pro-life argument: If it's not a human being, then what is it? A ferrit?!

Pro-choice argument: No one is saying it's a ferrit, but the life is not on the same level of the woman carrying it according to Exodus.

Pro-life argument: No! It's a human being right at conception even though the bible doesn't say this explicitly. It's implicit!

Pro-choice argument: No! The next step is for the fetus to finish developing and to be birthed for it to be on the same level of the woman.

Pro-life argument: No way, it's a child of God!

Pro-choice argument: Potentially, you mean...
Why did you PM me, Jack? Go smoke a toad.

No one knows with 100% certainty that the fetus is no different than the woman carrying it at conception or when it takes it's first breath. Both sides will claim they "know" but it's just not true. There is enough ambiguity in the scriptures to make cases for one believing life does begin in the womb and that the fetus is not regarded the same as the life of the woman carrying it (Exodus 21:22-25).

People are afraid to say, "I'm not sure" or "I don't know". I don't know when it begins, for this reason, I side with caution.

Yes,we do know! The Bible is clear.

Ps.
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Jer.1

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Ps.127
3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

Ps 139

For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb… Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.

Job 10 Your hands shaped me and made me… Did You not clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life.

Job 12
In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being

The Bible says we have a destiny,a purpose. These verses talk about being called in the womb. When you kill an unborn child to kill their God given destiny and potential. The Bible says children are a blessing from the Lord and He forms and knits us together in the womb, that He sees us in the womb and covers us. To say we don't know how God feels about the unborn is being obtuse. We do know how God feels. He takes such care in forming us,and you think that He doesn't care that that life, that body He formed is destroyed? No,the Bible is clear, abortion is wrong.

And finally in Luke...
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

A fetus, a blob, can't "leap for joy" a baby leaps for joy. The baby in the womb recognized the Savior and leaped with joy. 100% proof, abortion is murder.

I do believe human life begins at conception: the fusing of a sperm and egg.
I do not know when life begins. For that reason, I am against abortion in most cases. I would make an exception in cases where the woman is pregnant because she has been raped, and when her life is endangered if she gives birth.

We should give any woman who has an abortion the death penalty! She is committing murder!

We kill innocent children of God but don't want to give the death penalty to murderers, homosexuals, rapists, etc... This country has become one big joke!

Also, it's highly hypocritical for our society to condemn genocide and the Holocaust etc. and then in the same breathe be okay with killing millions and millions of babies in the womb! It's moronic, really.

It's also highly hypocritical for people to condemn abortion but give a pass to all those middle and upper class folks to inseminate and freeze many eggs for possible IVF, and then allow those eggs to be destroyed when they're done making babies. Life does begin at conception.

What about the men who fathered the children? Do we get to kill them too. How about all those folks who allowed their fertilized eggs to be destroyed? Can we kill them? Is this how we're going to show how much we value life? We're going to kill everyone who devalues life...that will show them how much it's worth.

Yeah, I do. Wanna know why? that's an easy one :)

For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:13-16).

Yet You brought me out of the womb; You made me trust in You even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon You; from my mother's womb You have been my God (Psalm 22:9-10).

Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? (Job 31:15).

This is what the LORD says--He who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you … (Isaiah 44:2).

And now the LORD says--he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength (Isaiah 49:5).

The word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:4-5)

"He (John) will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born." (Luke 1:15)

To name a few. :)

Well...now I feel foolish. I guess I should check the other posts before I put my oar in to make sure I'm not repeating anything. Just backing out up Kaylagrl! :p

(However, I really like the one in Luke when Gabriel comes to Zachariah:)).
