What I am saying essentially, God is above us all. If further you would care to speak, I am; [email protected].I was a lifetime addict, only Jesus could fix me. And still. I am a work in progress, a True man of God, under construction. I was addicted for 30 years. I am proof of the greatness of God

I too was abused and sexually molested abandoned and tossed. God redeems, but He must be sought. The best that has ever became me is God's love. However, I had to ask. I see your heart is pure and large, never give up! We are heavens citizens, God is father.

I know your pain so well. God is so worthy. The pain we now suffer cannot be compared to the glory that within us shall be revealed. Please write to me. This is my avenue, and I know a thing or two. [email protected]

Really the thread title says it all, but I will expand a little just to ask this; can someone actively in the midst of drug addiction, not recovery, be a christian? If no, why not? If yes, how is that reconciled?
Yes, if he believes in what Jesus said about himself.

Change of life is a long process, but we are Christians from the beginning.

A drug Addict, an Alcoholic or any other addictions of a Person can be overcome through the power of Jesus Christ. They can claim to be christians; but unless they have a williness to give it up, and be willing to choose God for their deliverer; the can't be in reality be true "Christians'..

Then I guess I am not a Christian as I am highly addicted to caffeine and caffeine is a drug. Everyone struggles with something some are addicted to certain things but I believe that salvation has to do with a persons heart not what their addicted to.
Same here. I use coffee on a daily basis and have no intention of quitting.

It's been said and written many times for years over but we each heard sayings for the first time so I'll say it again for those who have not heard it.

It's our responsibility to be fishers of men., but it's God's job to do the cleaning.

We each come into the family as sinners. Then Jesus is the One who makes us white as snow. We can't go get cleaned and THEN get saved. We don't go take a shower before we go get cleaned in the shower.....

We go get SAVED first and then the Great Physician does the cleaning and fixing and operating on us all through our lives. But in the interim we ARE saved and made righteous sons and daughters by His gift of righteousness. Praise the Lord for His amazing gift of grace.

Well there will be many temptations that Christians will face and fall in to. Being saved doesn't keep us from being human and make bad decisions. I think there are plenty of saved believers who fall in to very bad places. Now a person who claims to be saved in the midst of addiction but isn't struggling out of it....well that's between them and God. Addiction, especially drugs, can ravage a person on so many levels and even if they know the truth they might not fight towards it.

Only The Holy Spirit can rid a person of Addictions and bad habits someone is going through. All it takes is a Firm Desire to Repent, and Pray, and God will give you the will power to overcome anything if you meet God half Way.

If one is truly making a effort, then I would say it is possible they can be a Christian and a druggie at the same time, albeit a severely compromised Christian. But that can't go on forever. Eventually there has to be fruit.

But then I think this would have to apply to all of us... let's say for instance we are putting materials or people before our relationship with God (let's face it many people do) then we wouldn't be "true Christians" cuz we wouldn't be willing to give it up.
I think in this case everyone has fallen short of being a true Christian then...

Every Converted Christian has a story to tell about where they were when God crossed into their lives. Those who stay close to him, are the ones he cares for and teaches them his word and the deep things, the average person does not know or understand..Thank You Jesus!

Anyone with a Good Heart can be a Christian. However, what are you chasing? A pure heart or a good time? If you're physically addicted and trying to use the Lord to fix you just keep your heart on the prize and don't let anything dissuade you! :D
