Hello, I'm new here and new to forums in general so please pardon my grammar and spelling etc.

I am here writing this post because I'm hoping this will help people who are going through the same as me or have experienced the same and to share how to cope with such things.

Before i was saved (has been just over one year now, Praise God) i was suffering with Obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety and depression for many years. I was tormented daily with OCD with intrusive thoughts and rituals. I could not cope no longer and i cried out to God. He heard me. That night i cried out to God, He took away the worst of my illnesses there and then and gave me so much peace and comfort. Best of all He saved my soul. Thank you Jesus Christ. The rest was up to me to trust God and His Word.

God showed me these scriptures that helped me battle the compulsion to give into fear and do the ocd rituals (washing of hands numerous times, folding kitchen towel certain amount of times, count etc.)

1 John 4:18King James Version (KJV) 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

2 Timothy 1:7King James Version (KJV) 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I learned to put all my trust in God and not in fear. God is in control not fear. I no longer give into these compulsions anymore. Thanks to God.

Its been roughly over a year now and my mind still does get attacked a few times a day (which is nothing compared to the constant torment i had before i was saved) The attacks on my mind are opposite to how i feel and whats in my heart. This is what causes fear and anxiety but God has helped me overcome the fear and anxiety and how to respond to these attacks, which i believe are the devil oppressing me. Alot of the attacks on my mind are blasphemous but i know God knows they are not me and not from my heart so i do not take responsibility for them. This is what the devil wants, he wants me to think they are me all along and cause me distress and damage my relationship with God.

God tells me to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. This is what helps me overcome these attacks on my mind from the devil. Must remember what Jesus Christ did for us at calvary. Must remember that Jesus blood covers us, that we are made righteous through Him. That we are children of God. That we are new creatures in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17King James Version (KJV)17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

To those that are being condemned by the devil for past sins. I had taken notes from a pastor that i felt are very helpful and hopefully will help you too.
He said. All sin the moment you repent is covered by the blood of Jesus. Whats happening to this person is condemnation. The devil knows of something they did and keeps beating them over the head with it. But what they got to understand is

1 John 1:9King James Version (KJV) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Gods faithfulness and His just to forgive is for all those that come to Him in repentance.

Romans 3:23-26King James Version (KJV) 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Either you believe it or you don't. Don't let the devil twist the word of God and do not let the devil have rule over your peace. The things you did no longer exist in the eyes of God. Whatever you have done, whether you have stolen or whatever. The moment you ask the Lord in true humble repentance to forgive you, His blood washed you and cleansed you. The devil wants you to live under condemnation, so hes constantly going to bring up things of your past. God will not bring up your past because it is under the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The solution is always to go to Christ. Do not dwell in the past, dwell in the present and in the future through Christ. Don't ever question or doubt your salvation. Don't accept what Satan is saying over the word of what God says.

Romans 8:1King James Version (KJV)8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

God does not fail His word. The greatest sin in the world is to disbelieve Gods word. Gods word is a living word and always acts. God manifests Himself to a person who dares to believe. God says His word shall not return unto Him void. The sons of God are made manifest in this present earth to destroy power of the devil. To be saved by the power of God is to be brought from the realm of the ordinary to the extraordinary from the natural to the divine.
We have authority as Christians to take authority over demon spirits. We do not have authority over human beings, but we do have authority in the name of Jesus Christ to take authority over Satan and we have also the authority to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help us by sending the Holy Spirit to our aid. If you are being in anyway bombarded with Satan, whether its thoughts in your mind, whether you feel its a physical attack. You have the right as a Christian to say in the name of Jesus, i take authority over the powers of darkness that are coming against me. This maybe an attack on the mind, it maybe sickness and we know that it is Satan devil that is behind it. We have the right to take authority in the name of Jesus over any attack of Satan against our body, our family or our emotions.

James 4:7King James Version (KJV) 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We use the authority that was given to us by the victory that was won at calvary. Its not by our authority, its because of what Jesus did at calvary. God causes the devil to flee. We are saved by the blood of the Lamb Jesus. In the name of Jesus which means it is based on who Christ is and what He did. The power is not in our verbal confession but is based on the power of the cross.

Ephesians 2:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Worship and praise the Lord and take authority over the devil. Then praise the Lord.

I hope this helped you as much as it helped me.
I leave you with this wonderful scripture.

John 16:33King James Version (KJV) 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Thank you Lord Jesus.

There was a debt to pay my friend in the other realms, this debt has been paid when Jesus Christ died and shed His blood for you and me.
pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Ephesians 6:18
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground Ephesians 6:11
