For your daughter...

I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
– Isaiah 41:9-10 (NIV)

First off - Thanks to those who have commented and prayed for our daughter....

New prayer request. Tomorrow we go to court for the restraining order. Please pray it will be dismissed and dropped so she will be able to freely get her things out of their apartment. She will have to pay for storage right now as she has no place to put the stuff. Some things can come to our place but the furniture will have to be stored...

Also prayers for a second court date that hasn't been set yet for the domestic violence charge.... Thanks all...

Blessings to your daughter. Here are two of the many scriptures that I read repeatedly when I was going through a trial. Peace to you and your family.

Psalm 121King James Version (KJV)

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 27King James Version (KJV)

27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face,Lord, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

The good news was she let me say a prayer with her before we went into the court house and God answered this prayer. So thankful that God is still in control.

LB, yeah, this is a double, maybe triple betrayal. I am usually the one who says give it time and a chance, but this one is just so convoluted. I am still stunned. He cheats on her. He then calls the cops and gets her arrested, and then gets a order of protection. I don't use the evil or wicked much when describing peoples actions, but in this case I will.

Ditto that.

I hope she can get out clean, and shake the dust off her feet, and find her destiny outside those manipulators.

He does not deserve her.

Hey.. I will pray also that all the darkness comes into light.. Remember our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.. The Lord will be glorified in this situation. Be encouraged that everything we go through and everything that comes against us our awesome father will make something good out of it.. Bless you xxxx

Just a little bit of an update... My daughter contacted a friend of ours that is a lawyer and they will help her try and get this dismissed and taken off her record....

Melisa went to a food bank as she is out of work looking for a job and the manager of the food bank asked her for her phone number. She said you already have it in your records and he said no, is it o.k. if I call you later? She wasn't expecting that at all and asked him why he asked her... He said you have a nice smile and I have a feeling that you are nice. She gave it to him and he called and took her to see a movie and out to dinner.

She came home and said Mom you will never guess what he is training for.... I said to be a Pastor and she said yes....

I had told Melisa after she and former boyfriend had breakup that I had been praying for all of them - her, boyfriend and his son for all of their salvation, but the thing I added that I hadn't before was that God would do whatever it took to accomplish their salvation and then this breakup happened.... So it was not so much of a surprise to me that the guy she has made a friend with is training to be a Pastor... I told her I am still interested in her boyfriend and his son's salvation too.... God works in mysterious ways....

She is just interested in being friends only at this point with the new guy and I told her isn't this better to have a new friend and not be crying and feeling rejected if nothing else it will help her get through a bad time and maybe he can help her get to know God better.

Will update after we see if the court case can be dismissed....

Praise God from whom all blessings flow..... The domestic violence case was dismissed and threat of any further jail time is over and done with. Our Lawyer friend has helped tremendously.

The good news is that Melisa has opened her heart to at least explore God and said she should or would start reading the Bible I gave her a few years ago and with her new friend training to be a Pastor she has gone to the church he is working with a few times and has started asking questions.

She is planning on going to church with me next week and I am so thankful that God is working in her life.

We almost have all of her things out of their apartment probably one more moving day and it will be done.

Again thanks for all the prayers you folks have said in her behalf... Praying that she will surrender and come home to rest with God in her heart....

She got her old job back and it pays very well so she will be looking for her own apartment and able to get out on her own again soon. I am so happy for her that things are working out for the better for her. God is Good.
