I'm recently saved as most of you know that read my posts. I'm glad of the changes that God has been doing all throughout my life making me a more Christ like believer. I want to be a Godly husband and the proper spiritual leader of my household. From what I have been reading in the word I have not been able to have a clear picture painted as to how to accomplish this specifically. I figure bearing spiritual fruit is a big part of it. Would there be anything else I can do. I already read my bible, pray, and listen to praise and worship music everyday. My question is am I missing anything, or is it something that takes time to grow into or what?

Congratulations that you are saved and have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord! The process of a new believer in Christ is usually not rapid (except in Paul's case) but is usually slow. I applaud you on wanting to be the spiritual leader of the household, just as Jesus Christ is the leader of the church, the body of Christ. You already read the Bible, I assume daily. You pray. Do you pray for yourself, for your family, and that others would know Jesus as you know Him now? You listen to Christian music everyday. That is good, I encourage you to also memorize Scripture and have it written on the tablet of your heart. Find passages that mean a lot to you, repeat them to yourself, and put them to memory. As well, tell other people about what Jesus has done in your life and share with them how to become a Christian just as you have become a Christian. The gist of the gospel goes like this: The condition of man is sin (rebellion, passive indifference, etc against God). Due to that, there is a chasm or a wall that is erected and man cannot know God personally or experience his love and plan in their life. But man knows that they need something to fill the void in their lives so they try to live a good life, philosophy, works-based religion (like Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc). But none of it works and the void still remains. But God sent his Son Jesus to live a pure and sinless life, to die on the cross for their sins, and to rise again from the dead on the third day. If they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and sovereign Lord, that he died on the cross for their sins, and rose again from the dead on the third day, they will be saved, begin a new life, and go to heaven when they die. If they do this, encourage to find a Bible-believing church and not to be afraid to inquire, to read the Bible daily, to pray, and to listen to Christian music to fill their heart and soul. God bless. :)

Thanks for the insight. I like to make sure I'm on the right track. I witness daily and invite people to my church I attend regularly. I'm trying to get my wife to come too. It's a slow process much like my growth in Christ. I just see how much more I need to grow to become strong in the Lord and push myself hard to get there. I want to serve Him in everything I do. He has changed me dramatically. I don't know if my zeal for growth to this magnitude is considered wrong or not. I am always praying every opportunity I get reading my bible regularly researching the word listening to only Christian music and trying to surround myself with wholesome influences. Can you pursue too hard? Would that be considered going against His will if you push to hard to grow quicker than He wants you to. I'm still working out all the do and don't things.

Have you ever done any gardening?

Would, you pull at a plant to make it grow taller?

Or out a child in a rack to make them taller by stretching their limbs?

It takes time but I do have some good sermons on marriage you can listen too when you have time. I found them insightful,..will find after I get sleep, yawn really tired.

That's great points Ariel I know what you're saying. It's possible that I just think I'm going at it too hard. You can't go wrong praying constantly, reading your bible daily, and ministering to people. The only reason I say that I might be pushing too hard is because I'm not getting much sleep. I have a burden to advance the kingdom and stir up a revival. I also long to share Jesus with the lost. I love the Lord and know what happens if they don't accept Him. I would hate to see my family, friends, or anyone I know personally die spiritually. I wish more people saw that they need Jesus. I wish everyone would accept Jesus, but we know some people will refuse no matter what. That pains me to think about what awaits the unbelievers.
