Occasionally I will dream about being in a particular place I've never seen, and then at a later time I find myself in that place. I'm not talking about a deja vu feeling, this is a specific remembered dream-place that I wind up in later.

As profound as all that might sound, I've come to learn that there's no meaning attached to this. Dreams do come from our own thoughts, and perhaps they may skirt areas beyond our understanding, but they are not to be trusted to provide meaning.

We experience real meaning with our conscious minds when we're awake and lucid; and, as lastofall has said so well, if we feed our minds with the Word it will lead to true and meaningful living -asleep or awake!

EVERYONE dreams EVERY night. whether or not you remember them does not matter

dreaming is part of sleep and it is your brain going over the day's events and other things in your life

people who desperately attempt to find God in every dream do not understand that is not God giving the dream

yes, God can give dreams...but that is very definitely a secondary way of Him 'speaking' to us

the primary way is through His word

people read Revelation and think that the stranger something is, the more it must be God

don't go down that rabbit hole...God IS Spirit, but He has given us His Spirit to teach us, lead us and empower us

dreams are not power or teaching...they ARE open to interpretation and from what I have seen here, that is a very big open and indicates to me, that folks are really stretching things to try and appear spiritual. that, is not being spiritual

Dreams if used correctly and tested can be very powerful.

I get a lot of dreams from God they often come in batches.
Sometimes I have a series of dreams one following on from the other.
Sometimes I have dreams within dreams and picture within dreams.
I have had several prophetic dreams which have been spot on.

I agree that the word of God is the primary focus, but there again
so is the Holy Spirit, it's how God spoke to people before the bible was
written, indeed the Holy Spirit was the inspiration for the bible.

What would have happened if people ignored the Holy Spirit and said I'm not
writing that I will only read the Old Testament scrolls.

I won't tell you all of them as most won't appreciate the significance of them.
Also some are for specific moments to come in real life rather that CC life. Lol

But here are a couple I had last week to show you what I mean and how
powerfully God can use dreams. That is also another reason they have to be tested.

1) I had a dream that I was looking up at a high cliff face, there was a cave in the
Rock and water like a water fall was pouring over the mouth of the cave, I could not
see where this water came from or where it went to. It just seemed to disappear as it
touched the floor of the cave. I got the feeling that if I climbed up to that cave and
walked through the waterfall into the cave, that there were spiritual things beyond to discover.

I texted a friend about this and she replied back that the day before she had been
at her daughters house. The TV had a screen saver on it of a waterfall flowing over
the mouth if a cave on a cliff. As she watched it she felt the urge to climb up higher
and seek God to walk through the water! We were both gob smacked. It confirmed something
to her and about things going on in her life and we both felt the need to draw closer
to the presence of God.

2) This is a bit strange. For a month or so I have kept having a dream about
butterflies but I've never understood the context. Then last week as I was dropping
of to sleep I was chatting to God about all the difficult times and basically having a bit of
a pity party. Anyway I had a dream in which I was jumping up and down on a pogo
stick! I've never been on one in my entire life but it seemed very hard work.
I wasn't getting very far for the amount of effort I was putting in.

But then I had another dream that I was standing at the garden gate with butterflies
flying around me. The difference was really stark, we can jump around under our own steam
getting nowhere on a pogo stick, or we can flutter gracefully and with ease like those
butterflies under the guidance, love and direction of God.

I thought this dream was just for me but I felt an urge to post it on Facebook, the first
time I have done so with a dream. A Christian friend came up to me in church on
Sunday and said it had really spoken to her. She had only been telling someone else a
short while ago that all she seemed to do was hop up and down and get nowhere! She
had been saying how she wanted to just jump up and soar but only seemed to get inches
off the ground.
