I had a dream I was flying through space in some sort of ship. I was exposed to space (I know didn't make sense) and I traveled through brilliant clouds that made me feel, actually feel warm. I wanted to live in the clouds but eventually came to a dark place and the base of a rocky Mountain. The warmth was still with me but was over thrown by the need to ascend to the summit. I flew to the top where I found myself at a very small dark temple(as in light nothing felt evil or bad about this place). The clouds above were dark like a storm was coming and I could almost smell the rain. At the entrance was a small arched doorway with a black Horse blocking the way in. The horse growled like a lion and looked at me as if he was protecting the temple. Behind the horse a man appeared. His face was barley visible and I became frightened. I woke up immediately and felt satisfied.. like I had accomplished something great.. I have no idea what this could mean and don't know any biblical meanings behind it. I feel the man may have been GOD but why was everything so dark and dreary? Should all visions of HIM be drenched in light and happiness or was he showing me a different view.. can someone help me with this?

Not all dreams are happy dreams, just like not all of life is happy.

I usually get ridiculed for saying this, but i'll say it anyways. Rather than automatically assuming it's a dream from God, or going and asking random strangers on the internet, why not pray about it and ask that God will reveal it in His time? Or show you whether or not it is actually from Him?

Common sense rational thinking??

The black horse could have been death or pestilence from the book of Revelation. The Temple in Jerusalem and the man the Anti Christ who everyone else believes to be the true Christ. Or maybe it was Jesus before he comes. I am not sure. I think that dream is supposed to show that the state we are in now is still nice against whats to come. We still have God present with us but there will be a time where the dark side has his allowances to rule for a while till Jesus comes. Thats all I can get from this

There are as many explanations for what dreams are, why we have them, where they come from (and go), and what they mean, as there are, umm, as there are, well, let's just say there's a lot.

But God is not the author of confusion or fear, and if He wants to communicate with you, He won't make you play guessing games.

In fact, He's already communicated with us through Jesus and the bible, but if He wants to give you a direct revelation, through a dream or vision somehow, He's perfectly capable of doing so clearly and have you know and understand.

Chasing meaning in an 'awake' state over something that happened in a 'sleep' state might not be advisable. Focus on the Lord and His good will, He's given us enough to last a thousand lifetimes already, and we've barely scratched the surface.

And don't forget we have a dastardly enemy that uses deception and lies to lure us, and the mind can be a battlefield.

I know, and it grieves me how often I have (and shamefully still do sometimes) chased after empty enticements from the devil.

That's not to say that's what you're doing, just an encouragement to seek the things you know are of the Lord. Keep yourself in the Love of God, put on the full armor, and rejoice in His victory.

The scripture concludes that "a dream cometh through the multitude of business" (Ecclesiastes 5:3) which is to say a dream comes by way of our daily lives and routines; if we spend much of our time with fantasies and imaginations, then we can expect a dream to include such things; likewise if we spend much of our time in the Word of God, then we may receive a matter that belongs to the things of God: notwithstanding God can do as He will, therefore can He cause us also to have a dream exactly as He will in the manner He will.

From what I gather the part in which you are in a spaceship in space is transportation into the heavens(the rapture maybe?) and the clouds in which you went through and felt that warm sensation and how you wanted to live in these clouds was you being with God and God being with you most likely you were in heaven and when you came to a dark place with a mountain this appears to be god sending you back to earth in times of darkness and you felt the warmth with you still meaning God was saying how he will still be with you and you felt the overwhelming desire to ascend the mountain and mountains represent trials to overcome and in this instance perhaps God intends to use you in these times of darkness when the light is needed more than ever.
The storm you saw coming I have seen myself and many times God has spoken to me how this storm is rapidly approaching and how you could almost smell the rain meant how close this storm is to hitting us the black horse you saw was indeed from revelation he is the horse of death and the man you saw that you could not see his face was death himself which is why he frightened you. I have a feeling this dream was not meant to scare you but to warn you of what is coming and that God intends to use you greatly and that you will overcome which is why you woke up satisfied

This is the great danger of dreams. Anyone can make up any interpretation they wish and make it sound spiritual.

This whole thing could be just too much science fiction influence on our culture.

God has revealed Himself and His divine will in His Son and His word by His Holy Spirit.

If you wish to be lured away with another revelation other than Gods revelation I cannot stop you.

Not really looking for an interpretation. I just felt that it was powerful and was thrown off that I imagined God as something a bit darker than what I know or imagined earlier. I do need to pray about this and I appreciate the feed back from everyone.

Amen brother, I tried to post the same advice, but I admit I can get a bit wordy.

There's already been some dangerous fooling around with people trying to interpret another persons dreams. They really need to be careful.

Jesus and the bible is more than enough to occupy our fallen little minds.

Again, he needs to put on the full armor, even more so now that others are trying to fill his mind with personal interpretations, but if he insists, because the lure of the tempter is strong, proceed with caution, but I'd recommend against it.

It was a dream during sleep. Leave it there. Don't open yourself up to 'Hmm, what if ... '.

A bit darker?

Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

I can understand having discernment to know if it was just an ordinary dream or not as I do understand how the mind works with dreams but even so to discredit dreams entirely is not biblical as Jesus even said in the end times people would dream dreams and see visions and plus his dream was scriptural.

now as for the interpretation of it that is between him and God to decide in the end

I usually look in the bible if I think I've had a godly dream.
There are several verses by the way about God in the darkness if
you have a look.

I think the dark horse means something negative/demonic may be blocking your path....pray to God to reveal and break the stronghold over any area of your life you feel hindered in. Usually dark animals in dreams represent demonic spirits/witchcraft....just saying....Stay strong in God!

What is your source of information? This sounds like a little voodoo and a bit risky.
People love to appeal to Joel to justify all kinds of spiritism and such.
