There is currently a biblical limitation on the life of a human and it is 120 years with 70 years being typical. The only way that you are going to live forever is to contritely confess your sins to Jesus, thank Him for dying on the cross for you and invite Him into your heart. Scientists will not be exceeding the 120 year limit so I wouldn't be to concerned about that.

Scientist can extend life - but no where near for ever...anyway I cant conceive as life forever here on earth as a good thing quite the opposite actually. After 3 or 4 hundred years i be bored out of my tree....

Scientists are figuring out a way to beat death, and I think it is not a good idea because I don't believe it is God's plan to make us live forever through science. I want to see the Lord Jesus in heaven one day, but when people are able to live forever on earth that will not be possible.
Those who want eternal life in this world are seeing a curse.. The day will come when some people will not seek and yearn for death but they will not be able to die... I wonder if they will be people like these scientists seeking to have eternal life via genetic manipulation..

Revelation 9: KJV
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Scientists may try to play God, but they won't succeed in beating death - ever. Those of us who are in Christ Jesus though, will live forever on Earth. But it'll be the New Heavens and the New Earth, not this fallen Earth. Hallelujah!

Scientists may manage to prolong life however I don't believe they will ever manage to enable humans to live forever. I don't want to live forever here on earth as it is now, fallen human nature, human sinfullness and suffering. I personally long for Christ's return or to join Him in heaven which ever come's first.

There is one and one alone who sustains us and gives eternal life as gift to those who willingly accept it, man cannot and never will be able to prevent his own death. Is man more powerful than God? who sets the bounds anyway? there was one who tried to overthrow the eternal one, and he will suffer as no other being has..... do you honestly think He will allow man to effect his own eternal life? really? Consider these verses:
Isa 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Isa 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Isa 28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
Many times in history man has tried in various ways to find some other way. but we as believers know there is but one way, the narrow gate.... its time to stop listening to mans foolishness and be grounded in the word of truth.

Heaven isn't our final resting place. The New Heavens and the New Earth is.

Tiintin it is a secondary issue within Christianity as to whether we spend eternity in heaven or on a new Earth/heaven. Mainy things we discuss are secondary issues and ultimately have no impact on whether we are saved or not.

So yesterday, on my homepage, I saw an article about a dude who's 145 years old!! Yikes!! His age hasn't been verified yet, but according to his ID he was born in like 1870.....I don't think I want to live THAT many more years here......?
'Longest living human' says he is ready for death at 145

There's nothing secondary about it. The New Heavens and New Earth is the fulfillment of the hope that we have in Jesus. That said, it's not a salvation issue, but it's a very important distinction. To suggest that we live in some ethereal Heaven for all eternity is far more pagan in influence than it is biblically-based.

Will never be possible, scientists say a lot of things but can't always deliver. Most scientists put theories or possibilities out there, as of late there have been more scientists putting theories out there without any concrete evidence or probability for it happening. The fortunate or unfortunate truth is that every living thing must die, "MUST" there is no way we will live forever. Period

TinTin it is still a secondary issue anything that does not pertain to salvation is a secondary issue. My beliefs are based on what scripture says. Different individauls will interpret scripture differently and I have no further wish to discuss this matter.
