hi all, this is a space for older Christians forty years , separated or divorced, going through the difficult test and who need words of hope
Are we talking just physical age or is maturity required as well?

I have the former covered, but not so much the latter. :p

in a decade or two, the op might see being over 40 is challenging in itself.

I just turned 40 yesterday. Reporting for duty...............:D

Happy belated Birthday. When I turned forty, I thought, now what? Now I'm 46 and I think, okay I'm still able to move with all of my original joints, well except for the ankle I broke but nothing has fallen into disrepair yet. :)

3 pages of every single poster ignoring the OP, the topic or both. I hope the OP has support elsewhere than here because her request for encouragement got trampled on by people making jokes and turning this thread into an idle chatter thread for any random person. Quite selfish of people to make this thread all about themselves and ignore a persons request for help. You must all be proud of yourselves.

In all fairness, this thread was made, what 2 days ago.. And the OP ran after making it, never returning to post again. I don't see any selfishness here. She asked divorced people to post here, and some did. She also asked for words of encouragement. I'd say lighthearted banter is encouragement. :)

Yeah. Maybe she ran because she got ignored? Hmmmmmn.......

And light hearted banter is not encouragement. It's distraction. Not the same thing. And when that banter is clique-ish and excludes the person in need then how is that encouraging? Stop trying to justify what happened in this thread. We all know if it had happened to you your be having a tantrum. You can make whatever excuse you want but that's all they are. Excuses.

The name of this thread is "christians older than 40 years, report". And several older-than-40's DID report. Obviously the OP doesn't mind or she would have come back by now and replied. And EVERY thread in ANY forum gets derailed from it's original OP. I don't see where YOU offered her any supportive advice.. :/ So stop acting all holier than thou, judging us for OUR posts when YOU only posted on here to offer your opinion on everyone's posts, and not to offer the OP any encouragement. Pot meet kettle..

Well I went back and read the OP, and I didn't mean to dismiss her post. I have to be honest though; it didn't really give me much to go on, and I actually thought that a lighthearted post on my part would be a good thing. In a weird sort of way, I was trying to show her that she didn't have to be afraid of anything.

I want to be an encouraging CC'er, but sometimes I hit those "bumps" in the road. :)

I had no idea that my light posts would be taken as rude, hurtful, or insensitive by anyone.

I will pray for the OPer, and Ugly too. I know he is going through a tough week himself. I appreciate his sensitivity on the part of the OPer.
