Hi the answer is in the Bible about your concern. You should always honor your parents, but in Matthew 19:4-6 it states when you get married 2 become one flesh and you r to leave the parents and cling 2 your husband. So the choice is do you obey man or God.I would suggest to obey God,then your marriage will be blessed the beautiful relationship that God alone created.I hope your question is answered. Yeah. Marriage is a Choice and Commitment to another person. And that person also chooses you and commits to you. It will be impossible to have a healthy marriage if your spouse is second to anyone.
Ironically this exact topic was the subject on Dr Phil today. Unless you have a spouse/fiancé who is trying to isolate you or take you away from your family, then the family/parents are at fault. If your fiancé is happy to let you have a relationship and time with them, but feels he had to compete for it, then your family is likely being manipulative and controlling over you. The longer you let this go on the harder it will be to change. And it Will affect your relationship in the long run.
The couple on the show today had only been married a year and were talking about divorce because of this subject. That's a total of 7 years for their relationship.

Biblically speaking there is no sides to choose, this isn't elementary school your all grown ups and as grown ups should understand that your only one person and that they have to share you if one side gets mad because you spend time more time with the other then you need to say to them that they have to understand your only one person and that you love them as well as the others equally
