I find it interesting and mind blowing that people are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on prepping for the end. My theory is if something bad enough is going to happen and I had a choice to either die or spend a bunch of years under ground alive in a bug out shelter I think I am picking to meet my maker. I do not want to leave my loved ones and etc. but i sure would not live in a bug out shelter with anyone for a length of time. Chances are you will kill each other from going out of your mind kind of like Steven Kings movie The shining lol I think i much rather stand my ground and wait for the inevitable to happen.

I would not prep with the idea of surviving the end times.. The end times will be so terrible that living through them would be a nightmare.. It would be an extremely traumatic experience indeed.. Far better to Be with the LORD then to be down here when all that stuff is going down..

But i would consider seriously preparing for the natural disasters that will from time to time strike us and our communities during our lives.. It is good to have the thing that people need during this time so that one can be a blessing to others in a practical way after a natural disaster..

Also i firmly believe that no amount of prepping could cause one to survive the end times.. The only way one could go through the end times here on earth is if the LORD Himself desired for you to go through the end times.. He would send His Angels to protect you and cause you to make it through..

Psalm 91: KJV
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 ¶Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Me and my wife were preppers before she left. It's more of a hobby than anything.

Best way to be prepared is to prepare your heart and mind to receive the coming of Jesus Christ. Nothing else matters.

in our part of the 'woods' there are vast numbers of 'preppers', and in many ways, rightfully so...
we have our history to call upon, in our parents and grandparent's lifetimes....when dem banks close
their doors, your hard, earned, money and assets are GONE///and as we all know, History will and always
REPEATS itself...so, is being prepared a silly thing? I think not, but for us, we prepare out of the leading of
The Holy Spirit and not of any kind of FEAR...and common sense is so KEY, just by knowing/listening, and for
many of us going through the aftermath/percussions of our immediate, relatable familie's experiences...

our Bibles have more than given us the answers to our many questions...

Anytime my brain entertains the idea of prepping, The Holy Spirit says the same thing. Confirmed!

Sorry Tommy about your wife leaving I can understand it as a hobby and learning thing that can be helpful in a natural disaster and such but i mean these people who are spending tons and tons of money thinking that under ground bunkers and etc.... are going to save them and their families in case of all heck breaking out are just beyond crazy. I have seen shows where Christian people are building another life underground so when the you know what hits the fan they can live longer and I have no idea lol I know if it got that bad I would just be living out the last days the best I could and wait for my maker to take me away from what ever happens that would be that bad... Also if a nuke goes off you wont have time to hit your hundred thousand dollar under ground shelter lol

I understand the getting money stashed away and some things like that for sure and yes history does repeat itself. I was mainly talking about people who take it to the extreme they have bunkers underground and all kinds of stuff like that they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars thinking these underground bunkers will save their lives I have news for them if God comes down to destroy the earth their hundred thousand dollar bunkers will not protect them.

Is it any more sane to spend your life wondering if you should or shouldn't be in a bunker?

I find the idea of preparing for "the end of days" insane. It is called that for a reason after all.
It's one thing to prepare for a disaster event, but that's different....

Judging by some documentaries, people seem to be very good at stocking power bars and candles, but don't think about what will happen if they loose power for weeks, months, years.... or loose their water supply.... or if Christians are hunted down as criminals, or if huge natural disasters strike and take away their house with everything in it.

I guess not but I don't wonder that I know no matter what happens God has my back and He is more shelter then anyone else can have or make..

Hello wwjd_kilden,

I would only add that, the last days, the time of God's wrath, isn't meant to be survivable. But by His grace those days are not allowed to go on any longer than specified, other wise as Jesus said, there would be no one on earth left alive.

My husband calls us "preppers". We're not really, we're simply self sufficient. I don't prepare for a zombie apocalypse (even though I read once that the government has a plan for that), nor do we prepare for the end of the world. We live in a time of job layoffs, hurricanes (in our area), tornadoes, famines, antibiotic resistant diseases.....anything can happen, so I grow a garden and can, dehydrate and freeze what God grows for me, hub hunts and we raise animals for meat, we live in a mortgage free, solar/wind powered home with geothermal cooling, which we built ourselves (including the solar panels and wind generator). We have very few bills, so I am guessing we can weather almost anything life throws at us.....even zombies (giggles).

What we are doing is Biblical to us....so eh we can't be totally wrong.

I’ve always been an avid outdoorsman. I’ve been camping and backpacking through the mountains around me ever since I was a little kid. I do consider myself a prepper, but not in the ordinary sense of the word. It’s not like I have years worth of food stockpiled or anything. I do keep about two weeks of freeze dried Mountain House meals on hand, as well as a 5 gallon unopened Culligan water bottle.

This takes up only a small space in one of my closets. I do have a massive amount of camping, backpacking, and survival gear though. This has mostly been collected throughout my lifetime of backpacking and outdoor trips. I do know a few hardcore stockpiling preppers, but I actually view them as wise. Many of whom just want to make sure that their families will be safe in the event of an emergency.

I know that many may view those types of preppers as odd or weirdos, but at least from my experience, most of them were just regular people who simply don’t take for granted the fact that their power will always be on. I don’t see a problem with it, unless it becomes a financial or storage burden. I have seen some shows where people took it overboard. For me, I personally would go mobile if something “catastrophic” happened. It’s why I “prep” the way I do. I would not want to be confined or trapped in a stationary area or city if chaos erupted.

Honestly, I have gained enough extra camping gear over time, to equip several others too. I feel confident in my personal abilities, although I definitely feel that it would be best if you had a small group of at least semi experienced people to tag along with you. I have prepped a lot mentally, just through real life repetition and experience in the outdoors. With the gear and knowledge that I have gained over time, I could probably survive for years off the land.

However, not everyone has the option of doing that. Some may have a loved one that needs care, a wife and kids, some may not have enough experience, and some may simply not have time or physical conditioning on their side anymore. Who knows though, maybe for some guys (like myself) it may just be a genetic thing, because I definitely have this drive to survive at all costs, and to keep myself ready and prepared…just in case.

In my case, it's not that I’m trying to be ready for the Biblical end of days, it’s just that I like having a sense of security in knowing that I can completely take care of myself. I think that maybe for me, all of my outdoor activities may have led to my recognition of the importance of self-sufficiency. There’s something about the ability of not having to rely on others, that is appealing to some. Maybe this is more prevalent in people who live in the country, I don’t know.

i agree with you there the people that will fair better in a really bad situation are the ones who can live off the land the ones who can withdraw themselves from the majority of people and hike up in the mountains some place and live off the land. I think the Amish people have the best chance at serving anything. I do not mean that in a bad way at all they just know how to live modestly. people today are so hooked on technology and things when the power goes out they will probably lose their minds.

Yeah, but hopefully we won’t have to deal with that in our lifetimes:)
