A penny saved is a penny earned.
My bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R. My bologna has a second name, it's M-E-Y-E-R.
Veni, vidi, vinci.

I can quote lots of stuff too, but if it has nothing to do with the discussion, I tend not to. And, if it has to do with a problem someone is seeking help for, I really try hard not to throw fortune cookie sayings into the mix, to see if one might stick.

So far, you've been giving fish guts and acting like you're feeding anyone. I already know how to fish. I can't anymore. It was a "lifestyle change" I've learned to deal with.

You haven't given a shoulder to lean on nor have you bothered figuring out what the problem is. Nor would I count on you for the fix. You seem like the type of guy who would come over to offer help, the person asks you to take an empty cup to the kitchen, and you'd be the one who'd want that person to take the cup in and bring you back a sandwich. And then you'd get mad if she put mayo on the sandwich instead of mustard, so you'd take a nap on her sofa.

And this response will earn me three more pithy responses from you that ultimately aren't related either.
Depleted, you told us that something is bothering you. Do you want to fix it or do you want a shoulder to lean on?

Hi Res, if you want to fix it here is a list of chores for you.

1) undo the heart attack her hubby had
2) go help clean up all the house that both of them are struggling to do for medical reasons
3) decorate the whole house for Christmas, tree, etc
4) do all the maintenance around the house
5) go over and cook them a full Christmas dinner so they can both put their feet up and
enjoy each other's company

So when are you going over?

Teaching someone to fish, is worth nawt if they can't physically do it, or if they
happen to live in a desert!

I'm not sad. Things are going good, as a matter of fact, and yet, I burst out crying over the stupidest things. Until last year, I really wasn't a cryer. I mean, something bad happens, and I'll cry, watch ET and I can't ever get past where ET dies without a tissue, but I don't cry over every little thing.

The soap dish in the tub fell down and hit my foot. Worth an ouch, but I balled. Can't find a Christmas tree and cried for the rest of the day. Been like this for a year now. Use to make sense, when hubby was teetering on death, and then the hospital was incompetent, but he's home now, and I'm happy, and yet...

So, I did some research online and figured out I'm depressed even if I'm not. I know that kind of depression. It's physiological.

I'm still me. I read the Bible almost everyday, and talk to God throughout the day, but there's and anger and a hurt that pops up for no particular reason. Not much into healing ministries, (I'm being nice), don't see a purpose to see a shrink, (been there, done that, nothing changed except my wallet got thinner), so I'm asking.

Is there anything that can be done about physiological depression? (And, I'm not asking on the "natural health" forum, because I really don't believe in most of the stuff preached there. Also being nice. lol)

If there isn't, I'm okay with that. Just another thing God will change about me when I get the new body. BUT, why live with it if it's fixable? Ya know?
I am also depressed more then usual right now you can look into changing some diet things to help with it and natural vitamins. you also have back injury as well you may want to look into PBA I have read that even people with spinal cord issues can have it not just ms etc...... worth a look at https://www.pbafacts.com/pba-facts-science

Hi Lynn, just wanted to add that when a person is stressed for a prolonged period
of time it affects the chemistry and hormones of the body, which in turns
starts to affect brain chemistry.

Its these changes which have a knock on effect and cause the very real symptoms of
depression.

Medication is based on correcting those very real (not imaginary) biological changes.

Over time they can correct themselves but it takes sheer hard positive determination
to do it and the corrections take time. I have a relative who goes to a gym 3 times a week. Lol

When i get really stressed for example the raised adrenaline and cortisol (I think
that's what it is) messes up my cycle really bad. Anything which is capable of doing
this also has an impact on the other functions of the body, including how the brain functions.

Prolonged stress has a genuine biological effect. People use to think depression was imaginary
but it is a real imbalance of functions in the body.

If someone has a broken leg, they need time to heal. Its the same with stress and depression,
unfortunately many still think it just needs a quick fix and teaching someone to fish!

Nuts! I have to spread the reps again, so if someone can, please rep Miri for this. And if you have some Christmas cookies/biscuits, she likes them too. lol

Miri, I got that right, right? Your biscuits are our cookies?

The difference between your depression and mine is you're supposed to be depressed. You're life right now, (until you get out and on your own), is bad enough to be depressed about. It's a reasonable responses to a bad situation. I'd be more worried about you, if you weren't. That would be "unreasonable."

As for PDA's, I did read the list, and, for one reason or another, I know I don't have any of those things with the possible exception of MS, but I doubt I have MS, because that usually hits middle-aged people, and I past that already.

Whew! Good thing. That isn't one of those things I'd want to have. But thanks for thinking of it. Honestly, I never really worried about such things until I was with my dad at his doctor's appointment, and the guy told him he either had ministrokes or dementia. (He has the worst of those two things, so we've all become a bit concerned with our gene pool.)

Thanks for thinking of another possible answer, and don't you dare have PDA either, young lady! (Yeah. I said it. 43 is still young. lol)

Yay! on doctors listening. Rare anymore, isn't it?

Boo on the possibility of MS, BUT don't fret too much. A friend of mine had plaque on her brain when she was in her early 40's and worried about it becoming MS too. She's now 60, never has had MS, and I don't dare ask her if she still worries about it, in case she forgot about it. Try to remember to only cross a bridge IF you get to it. (I tend to worry ahead of time, and then regret all that wasted time worrying.)

Not trying to be offensive
Just sayin'

My brothers, husband and son would have known the correct response by now.

Not once have I ever heard of God setting it up that someone cleans a very messy house nor that he gets someone in to fix all the problems.
