Aaah then Afrikaans will not work for you. People say it is a difficult but beautiful language because of the guttural sounds and also our rrrr is a hard sound, not a round rrrr like English (or American :) )

Why not find some international students on a university campus and offer to exchange lessons, English for whatever it is you want to learn. In the US, Spanish is the big international language, but there are lots of immigrants. There are usually a lot of Chinese and Korean students on large campuses.

There are free language classes online on coursera.com, or if you live in a decent sized city, there might be a social group dedicated to another language (I've seen French language and Spanish language clubs in my area)

If you are interested in Spanish, scroll down and look around on this site.
Resource: Destinos: An Introduction to Spanish

You may have to do a lot of opening things because it isn't straight-forward, but there is a wealth of teaching here.

I have other programs I will try to dig up if you want.

Jennifer,
Spanish would seem most useful for you, but it may also help to learn a bit of others, like Mandarin. Other languages seem interesting, and i hope the resources suggested would help you. Unless you have that much time and focus on one language, you can also learn a little of French, other, for then you wont feel so uncomfortable when ppl from other nations or cultures are speaking their tongue and you have some idea of what they may be talking about and not wonder if they are selling you or what=).
A well-known French phrase is qu'est-ce que c'est, used when you want to ask what's going on. Even if you dont master the language, it is fun to know some esp how they sound. Good if you understand even if you do not really speak it.

If you live near a library of any size, they may have languages on tapes you can check out. I learned a bit of Russian that way.

I understand Python is an easy (computer programming) language to learn. ;-)

Nicely played. I was waiting for somebody to chime in with object-oriented languages or an offer to teach her to speak Klingon.

Spanish would seem to be very useful. Then again, maybe you could pick up Hebrew or Greek so you could show off to all of us over here like some folks like to do.

Two simple things will work wonders. Knock off every bit of sugar and dairy that you possibly can. And try to drink only water, and at least a gallon of it a day. Yes, strive for a full gallon a day. I drink a gallon and a half on my good days.... sometimes I get lazy.

It might be a systemic fungal infection. Have you been exposed to black mold or candida albicans in your life? Check out Doug Kaufmann.

i can help you to learn chinese if you wish
This thread is a year old. I'm sure if she was going to learn a language, she's already working on it.

As it stands now, she's busy packing to move.

I know you're new, so no harm, nor foul. You just didn't know. But under each thread has the date when the post was started. Most are time sensitive in that a year later the person either got the answer they needed or stopped looking for the answer. Again, no harm. This is just me trying to help you get the lay of the land on this site.

Welcome aboard.
